What Are Seasons?
Seasons are 3-month long themes that play out in Pokemon Go that run roughly in tandem with the real-world seasons of Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. They were first implemented in December 2020 as a part of the Go Beyond update. Seasons effect gameplay in various ways, and these ways include:
- Unique spawns and hatches for the Northern and Southern Hemisphere
- Specific Mega Raids appearing in seasonal rotation
- Specific Mega Evolutions occasionally enjoying a "boosted" status that increases their power
- Special events that match the theme of the season
