June's here again, and so are our Content Update breakdowns! We stopped due to Niantic no longer posting actual articles, but their infographics have proven good enough for our purposes. So let's get started, and take a look at what the beginning of Summer has to offer.

June, 2024 Highlights

This is actually a pretty nice month in terms of offerings. We have a few high-profile Pokemon available, as well as some great bonuses. Note that we can only really comment on events that we already have information on, so this list may be incomplete in hindsight.

Top Priorities

The absolute apex of this month is Mega Rayquaza, the current absolute strongest Pokemon in terms of PvE performance. If you don't already have a good one raised, then be sure that you've got time set aside on June 29!

Shadow Raikou is also downright amazing. Among the best Electric Type attackers in the game, scoring a good one will be amazing for any Electric team. While weekends can be hard to free up for Pokemon Go for many, it's worthwhile if you've got time.

Ho-oh is a staple in the Master League, and a pretty solid Fire Type attacker as well (Flying too if you manage to score Hidden Power Flying). This makes it a very worthwhile target for June in its own right.

Wingull is actually another very worthwhile Pokemon to hunt during its Spotlight Hour, as Pelipper is a fairly high priority in both the Great and Ultra Leagues. On top of that, since it's wild-caught, it can have a 0-IV floor (outside of Windy/Rainy Weather), giving better chances at a good individual... though you'll want to find a Perfect Wingull if you're aiming for the Ultra League if possible, so get ready to trade.

Goodra is a great Pokemon in all three leagues, so don't skip its Community Day. You're going to want a number of them to trade for the best possible IVs for each league.

Mega Charizard Y is one of the top Fire Type Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Go. It's a monster of a Pokemon that can potentially rival and situationally surpass Mega Blaziken, meaning it's a must-have for any Fire team... though it's also been around since the launch of the Mega Evolution system, so most players probably already have it ready to go, and/or at least one strong Charizard saved up.

Mega Tyranitar is an outstanding Mega Evolution. It's the generally top TDO Rock Type Mega Evolution, and also the top Dark Type Mega Evolution. Another must-have for any raid team.

Good Priorities

Zapdos, Landorus - Incarnate, and Yveltal are all strong attackers that aren't quite near the apex of their types, but still okay picks when needed. Yveltal also has some presence in the Master League for added value.

Roggenrola is also pretty good, as Gigalith has a decent presence as a Rock Type attacker... though it also needs its Community Day move to be worthwhile, and probably isn't worth spending an Elite TM on when not in Shadow forme.

Mega Alakazam is one of the top Psychic Type Mega Evolutions, and can also put in duty in other types thanks to its tremendous Attack stat.

Mega Gyarados can pull double-duty as a Water/Dark attacker, and has great TDO most of the time... though its DPS is fairly low.
