A new update dropped out of nowhere, and players everywhere are reporting the tell-tale nearby shadows that comes with it! This time around, Niantic has graced us with a plethora of new Pokemon, and a new feature that allows for easy evolution for Pokemon that use the trade-evolution mechanic in the main series.
New Pokemon
Obviously the most exciting part of this update is that we have new Pokemon to add to our collections, including a few Unova fan favorites!
Newly Added Pokemon
That's 33 new Pokemon confirmed! However, not all are available universally. Some need to be evolved into, and others are regional. As such, here's a break-down of what's currently confirmed to be available given different methods. Keep in mind that this may not be a full list, and is only what Niantic currently has in their official page!

Trade Evolution
Another exciting new feature is the new Trade Evolution System. In the main series, specific Pokemon will only evolve if traded between two trainers. This has been implemented in Go, but in a much more forgiving way given the re-roll mechanics for trades. If a select Pokemon is traded, its evolution cost drops to 0 candies, making the evolution free! This can be a huge help for players with small candy pools, and is definitely a way to encourage trading! On top of all of this, the system is retroactive! Pokemon of these species that were traded before this system was implemented can still be evolved free of charge!
