Yes, i am comparing go to sonic. Before you send me to a loony asylum, here's why.
Although raids are very exciting and all that, they are not challenging, any noob can get tons of legendaries. You can just stand there, inflict little to no damage while everyone else does, and still catch it. Or i've seen people who haven't got a clue about type effectiveness, asking at every single raid what type to use, they can catch it too. I've got 29 dogs and i never wanted 29 dogs, it devalues the legendaries when we're so saturated with them. I've taken down entei with 4 people, too easy.
It's also very easy to complete your dex now, i've seen people who don't make a lot of effort with full dexs. When the game first came out this wasn't the case, i used to have to go nest hunting and go to other cities (my town is not very big) to finish gen 1. I put a lot of effort into it. But in gen 2 i haven't needed to.
Also, gyms are now complete rubbish. The old system was pretty rubbish but at least you could build a gym that was challenging to take down. Now its impossible, everyone can take down any gym, there's no defense meta, gyms are no challenge at all. We're all just using them to get our 50 coins and that's it.
The way i see all this, Pokemon go has become a game for noobs. For me this is unsatisfying cos it makes the game unchallenging, i enjoy a challenge. The game is fun but too easy, like sonic the hedgehog (the original ones that is) was a fun game that's really easy to complete.
Sonic the hedgehog was also a popular game so i don't blame Niantic for making it this way, they're out to sell the game afterall. Noobs want it easy and they've got it easy.
I've got a mewtwo ex raid pass this weekend (i consider myself very fortunate in that regard.) I will hopefully catch the mewtwo then retire from go until the next big update, there's just no new challenges for me after that point.
Last thing, Niantic are doing absolutely nothing to combat spoofers. I see all spoofers as noobs, afterall they're doing no walking which should be the point of the game. As i said, Go is a game for noobs ;)
