Poll: Will players be able to get more than 1 Mewtwo?

An earlier post made me realize how many players believe we will be limited to 1 Mewtwo per account.

I'll leave out some of my thoughts for now, but I will say this would be an exception from how they've handled the releases of every other species in the game thus far-- including Legendaries. Not to mention, limiting players to 1 per account would cost Niantic tons of loss in profit.

Nonetheless, what do you say?
-Thumbs Up for no limit of Mewtwos per account.
-Thumbs Down for limit of 1 Mewtwo per account.

Comment if you like as well.

+1

Just to specify. There will be no limit per account. There will be limited chances of getting one - limited invitation, allowed to catch one every X weeks/months. That's the way I'd do it at least

My thoughts are no limit at all. Was just surprised how many thought otherwise. As you can see the results are very split, at least so far (9-7).

I guess that it will come to what Niantic envisioned when they called these raids "exclusive". Exclusive of "limited" or exclusive of "novel"? We'll get many in any case, but in the first case not as many as with the current legendary ("everyday"). We shall see

But for real, I would be so grateful for just one since the planets nearly have to align to get one, with nearby gym raids and all, invites, group sizes, battle mons of you and your groups, and then thats just to get a chance to catch one. I travel every few months, and this summer to 4 locations, so I probably will be out of town when I get an invite from wherever I raided. In fact I know that will happen.

"+1 no limit, -1 limit"

What does this mean?

...I would also be very appreciative to have just one and I hope you are around for the invites.

Can't imagine they'd limit it... They don't want to incentivize people to stop playing after achieving something.

What would they possibly hope to accomplish by limiting each user to only one besides actively going out of their way to make even more players angry at them? It makes no sense.

The only way I could see them limiting it is to provide only one invitation per qualifying player. So once you get your invite, that's the only one you'll ever get. But what if:

  • You're out of town or are otherwise unavailable at the time of your raid.
  • You fail to catch it.
  • You catch it, but its stats are 10/10/10.

So nope. Don't see them being THAT stupid.

Yep. I cannot see any reason for this limit from a player standpoint or a profitability one. The cat was out of the bag from the balance or rarity standpoint when raids started. It's crazy to think that genie can go back into the bottle.

Interesting post but will never happen.

What could happen is you're only allowed to use one mewtwo per raid, per gym battle etc.

Oh, I personally don't think there will be a limit at all. But some were saying this earlier, so wanted to see how many thought this way.

2 Mew2 per 2 accounts! It is logical. :-)

I was hoping from the beginning that all legendaries would be one per account. That would make them rare. It's hard to believe that the best and most sought after pokemon are easier to get than a golem. If you were to catch a second legendary you would have the choice of keeping the new one and transferring the old. This way you can still try to get the highest iv legendary. How can someone have 40 zapdos. Isn't real and doesn't make sense. Just a money grab

But be honest. Now that this is the way they run it does it make any sense to change it suddenly? And the fact folks have 20 Articuno is laughable in the game compared to 40 Tyranitar anyway.

Why not one Mewtwo for each account with 100% IV? That would end the struggle for lots of players.

I think we can all bet our trainer accounts that they will NOT limit it to just one Mewtwo...

This would screw over all the people at Yokohama and what if you powered up a lower IV, crap one and now, get a perfect one?

I say it is simply IMPOSSIBLE for them to limit it to one and again, remember, the overriding theme of the game is that it's a CASUAL MOBILE GAME...

It's not competitive and wasn't designed to be skill based, balanced or competitive and has no real rewards (can make 25k last weekend at Pokemon TGC at worlds)...

Let people get 20, 50, 1000 if they want...Niantic isn't in it to turn this into a totally diff game...

I agree, and you pointed out my biggest concern with limiting it to one per account: powering up. I'd hate to power up a solid mewtwo just to see one with a better IV, then have to dump my powered up version to get it. Unless they could combat this somehow, it can't be limited.

Plus, stronger accounts don't hurt weak ones in this case, they are just better equipped to get lesser trainers raid bosses. This is more amplified in more rural regions. So functionally it hurts Niantics apparent goal to limit raid bosses as well as it costs them money. The only thing a limit would help is folks that get butt hurt on the internet that read about others and their strong crew. Practically you now want everyone around you to have a killer set

Should be limited!
First Mewtwo is possible catch with its low rate capture.
And after that, the rate capture should be decrease to avoiding trainers have Mewtwo army.
But but but, miss Nia too greedy to us, milking it and gaining million $$$ from premium key as requirement for Mewtwo invitation.

Nope. Spend a dollar or don't complain about it. Millions lmaooo

If they are limited access, then it will only be intially.

Then they will open it up to anyone willing to pay.

No limit, but as rare as legendaries should be (currently, they are too common for many while out of reach for others). I wonder how long legendary raid passes will be required...

Many replying are missing the point. If Niantic allows numerous (unlimited?) MewTwos then it will disrupt the system for both raids and gym battles. If raiders can go into raids with six high powered MTs then they will be able to solo all the 3 stars and maybe even easy four stars. Gym battles will be equally crazy.

Just saying, I am not sure how they will address this. Maybe you can hold one MT and when you beat another raid you can decide to keep the new one
