I don't know how many hours I have spent fretting over how I should assemble a team to take down Machamp solo. I have even walked two L28-30 Eevees with low IV's to make them into Espeons.
Well, today the day finally arrived. I had put together this team:
CP Level IV (A-D-S) Pokemon Fast Charge
2220 30 13-15-14 Gengar Hex Shadow Ball
2544 30,5 12-13-14 Espeon Confusion Psybeam
2406 30 12-13-1 Espeon Confusion Future Sight
2304 28 14-4-12 Espeon Confusion Future Sight
3063 30 15-14-15 Dragonite Dragon Tail Hurricane
2278 29 12-6-11 Alakazam Psycho Cut Shadow Ball
I even forgot that I was actually going to use an Exeggutor instead of the Alakazam, but it didn't matter. Anyway, I had been unsure about whether the team was strong enough.
The Machamp had Close Combat which surely made the fight easier.
Anyway, I had never anticipated just how easy it was. I played brainless attack-spamming with no dodging and the Espeons just ate Machamp alive. I finished Machamp off with 65 seconds left on the clock. 65 seconds! Only the first four attackers even entered the match, my Dragonite was very disappointed. Even as great as the Espeons were, I think I might have taken it with what I had before I evolved them.
To make matters even better, I fed Machamp a pinap and caught him with a first throw excellent throw and got a 84% (attack 15) Machamp with C/DP. An allround great raid. Surprised that nobody else showed up for this one.
EDIT: I didn't get a TM, but I did get a staggering 10 rare candy! Definitely a raid pass well spent! :-D
NEW EDIT: Been reading up on other people's experiences and have concluded that there was something off here. It shouldn't be possible with 65 seconds to spare with that team. Either there was another player that I somehow didn't see either in the lobby, in-game or IRL, or something buggy was going on. I certainly don't expect to be able to replicate it like this.
