Why would anyone bother with the lower raids? (1 & 2)

I just did a level 2 Exeggutor raid by myself. And the ONLY reason I did it was because I was looking at my Eggy's and I don't have that many good high IV ones. I was hoping I would defeat the raid boss and get a high IV Eggy. Anyways, I defeat the damn thing very easily. No rare candy, no TM's, and no high IV Eggy. (10A/15D/10HP 77%)

The past two days I've participated in level 4 raids with a bunch of people in Manhattan. I got bunch of rare candy, I got TM's, and chances at catching Tyranitar and Snorlax. (I caught only one Tyranitar B/C 86% IV)

I will NEVER play a level raid 2 again. I rather the raid pass expire than waste my time and get almost nothing in return.

Try going to your local city. I'm sure there should be plenty of players doing raids there.

in my city(big city) if it is a TTAR or SNAX there will always be 5 or more people to join the raid after around 2pm plus the spoofers. I also have 3 whatsapp groups(kind of telegram), one for my neighbours, other for valors and other for the entire city. I always find enough people

Out of 55 raids, 8 of which were level 4, I have only ever gotten a TM from a level 1 or 2...

Hm, that's very interesting. I've done four level 4 raids and have gotten a TM 3 out of 4 times. I did get a 2 TM's (fast & charge) from a level 3 Arcanine raid that I did with another person.

Apparently I have real bad luck, but to me, it is far more exhausting trying to chase down people and go to level 4 raids than it is to walk across the street to do a 1 or a 2. At least with those I'm not expecting anything...

This...I'd try to just build teams to solo all 1-3 (minus Flareon/Jolteon) raids personally.

As great as doing Tier 4 raids are, finding enough people and starting all the same time, etc...is sorta annoying...I sorta like to just keep grinding level 3 raids actually with 2 people and just leave it at that...Saves time (always a thing for me) and potions/revives...You burn through a ton with a ton of failed raids.

As I mentioned in another post, other players also don't seem to know how to play optimally...

I was in a raid of 5 people and me and my wife did pretty much TRIPLE the damage of the other 3 people combined (at least according to the damage bars)...Something must be wrong, but one was Level 37, others low 30. I also lag/start 20-30 seconds later when everyone is already tapping madly at their screen.

Think how easy the boss would be if everyone knew what they were doing...

One reason I keep saying high level != high skills/expertise.

None of my attackers were > 30 neither.

Well, I´ve done 7 T1-T2 and got 2 charge TMs and 2 T3 and got 1 fast TM.

Probability is difficult with small numbers.

If there was ever a point where gym badges were meaningful and provided value, then I could see the point of solo'ing the lower tier raids at your neighborhood gym to try and reach gold-level badge faster since raids are the fastest way to level up gym badge imo (since 1,000 gym xp from raid is equivalent amount of XP to defending a gym for about 17 hours). But as of right now, I agree, better to save for a tier 3-4.

I only had about 35 Grimer candy. So I went after a Muk.

Also, something is better than nothing. I got a fast TM on my first raid when I didn't know what I was doing (tier 1).

Some people do not have a choice. In a local facebook group most players will only travel 10+ mins for a Ttar or Machamp. So basically if you live in a town like mine you have to depend on level 2s (Don't have a team to solo 3s yet.)

Because sometimes weak bosses are the only ones nearby, or no one else is around to help with a stronger boss. Fighting something weak is better than just letting the pass go completely to waste. I fought a Quilava yesterday, because it was either that or nothing.

To be honest, I would rather have another easy Eggy rather than a level 20 vap, jolt, arcanine, flareon or gengar. Those level 3s are a waste of my limited potions. I want Machamps, but I might settle for Alakazam (+pinap) if it is late in the day. Extra 3k points will add up, too

I do them because I don't have the poplulation of Manhattan around me to take part in raids, and help out...and a Lvl4 raid solo is a complete waste of a raid pass.

Having some time before work, I did a Exeggutor raid because I knew it would be over quickly and hadn't used my daily yet. The gym near my house I do low level raids just for the gym xp. And I would always do any Muk raids that show-up, due to how rare those guys use to be.
