Are Dragonites really that hard to catch? I wouldn't mind spending 70 ultra balls but still... 70? Damn. Way back August when Pokémon Go was still making a fuss... I have seen YouTube videos on catching a Dragonite. It was so far so trainers use the L throw. The hardest thing I ever tried to catch is a freaking Rapidash. Spend around 40 ultra balls because I just couldn't reach it.
My second wild encountered Dragonite!
It was the week before Christmas, some degree above freezing. It had rained the whole day, I had walked around for more than eight hours.
I was cold, wet, hungry, tired and had problems operating the mobile with my stiff fingers. Just about to give up for the day.
Then it suddenly spawn just in front of me, 2300CP. The adrenaline started to pump. All my tireness went away. I got under a small roof. Carefully wiped the screen dry. Razzberry, Ultraball, tried to do my best curveball with frozen fingers. I caught it directly (Yes!), but right afterwards it broke out and vanished in smoke. I was left in the cold rain, silently watching the screen in disbelief.
The only wild Lapras I have seen fled...during the 'Water' event.
My first wild Snorlax fled...in the second week of my account.
My second wild encounter of Dragonite fled - my first encounter happened when I was completely out of pokeballs. Needless to say, I have never let myself run out of pokeballs entirely again.
