Larvitar/Pupitar Evolve
I don't typically ask questions here but I am quite torn right now. I have the following two Mon below at 97 Larvitar candy. The bulk of which has come from hatching and walking. I've only caught two larvitar and the Pupitar below. I'm just about to hit lvl 35 and got about 1 mil dust so dust is not an issue.
Pupitar level 30 84% Max CP: 3591
Larvitar level 20 93% Max CP: 3634
Obviously, the lvl 30 would be immediately viable and if I get fireblast then I at least get a 3000 CP guy to throw in gyms. However, I don't know if I would ever take an 84% IV guy much above lvl 30. So, is it worth evolving something that I know I won't spend dust on (even if I do get a good moveset)? Otherwise, I'm going to wait until I get around 220 candy to evolve my best Larvitar at that time and risk the move set lottery.
Thank you in advance for any advice!

If you believe that attackers should be lvled up to max 30 and no further... as I do...then I'd do the pupitar first.
If you get a good attacking moveset, then you instantly have an attacker.
If you get a lousy moveset, then you saved yourself 25 candy. And can start saving for the larvitar.
If you get a defensive moveset, then you should already be able to stick it in gyms and be around the top CP.
Typically I agree with you on the lvl 30 for attackers. I tend to want to max out trophy attackers though (like my 98% DB/DC dragonite) and envisioned doing the same with a theoretical (96%+ B/SE T-rex). But realistically I could be waiting quite a bit for that IV larvitar and even longer for the candy and maybe never for the moveset haha
