Tyranitar tore 3 Snorlaxes new assholes!

Was very happy to evolve an 84%IV Pupitar into a 2.8k Tyrantosaurofuckingawesome. Lucked out with one on day 2 of release.

First test run today was a level 5 gym and it tore through the first 3 Snorlaxes of 2.8k, 2.8k and 2.9k CP before it fainted. T-rex is pretty much BodySlam proof. I had to watch out for the third one with ZH/EQ but the damage from T-rex is there. Stone Edge literally drops a shitload of damage.

I think what's gonna happen in the coming weeks/months when T-rex gets more common, it don't matter if your Snorlax has ZH/BS or any other moveset, T-rex is gonna plough through them all without blinking. As an attacker it feels even better than my legacy DB/DC Dragonite, which really is saying something. Of course defensively it'll have issues but it definitely seems to me that Tyranitar is a weapon made for attacking. I'm reconsidering the value of powering up any Snorlax now.

Gonna put more miles on this buddy and walk it till it poops candy.

Lol nice. But I'm under the impression that Tyranitar is just Rhydon on steroids. Almost every aspect is similar.... base stats, typing, charge move, weaknesses.

Like comparing Starmie to Vaporeon. Bite is superior compared to Mud Slap, faster and higher dps. I also find Dark typing very useful, goes pretty much unresisted.

What do you mean unresistant?

Currently Machamp has the highest DPS base on early calculations, with that said Tyranitar has double weakness to fighting on top of that fighting resist rock & dark.

Tyranitar will be for attacking, obviously except against Water and Fighting types.

Bit too early to call it but it looks like Blissey and Vape are best all round defenders. For me, just based on play experience so far (am not a speeadsheet person), best attackers would be Tyranitar, Machamp, legacy Dragonite and of course, not forgetting my beautiful 100% Confusion/Futuresight Espeon.

Did you try it against Blissey? How good is in that match?

Just a question, how in the world did you manage to get 100 candies to evolve your Pupitar into Tyranitar on less than 2 days? I can't see any possible way to do that without some sort of cheating...

Not quite a nest but there are 2 spawn points near where i work. Near docks. Spits out a larvitar each every, say, 2 hours. Boss thinks I am hard at work 'supervising' couple of vessels, LOL. I hope he does not read this forum!

There are no Larvitar nests, just like Dratini, there are spawns but no nests, just why I am sure it is very difficult to get 100 candies of him in just 2 days without any kind of cheating, either maps or spoofing...

LOL don't hate on me bro, legit all the way. Peace.

Hope you get your Tyranitar soon.

Provided that those spawn points exist as he has said and 2 every 2 hours. That means during a work day (8-10 hours), he could have caught 8-10 Larvitar per day. With previous candy drop, he would need to catch 25 Larvitar plus transferring them 4x25=100 candies. But let's not forget about the new Pinap Candy! Now to reach 100 candies, 7x15=105. Catch(3)+Pinap(3)+Tranfer(1)

So it's much easier now to evolve these 100 candy mons. Provided that you have a stable source of spawns...

Tyranitar is quite useless. It has too many weaknesses.

Ive watched a 32XX one get destroyed by a 19XX Wigglytuff with Dazzling Gleam. 3 Dazzling Gleam and it was gone

Blissey is without a doubt the best defender, and tyranitar will soon be known as the best attacker due to its bulk, resistances to Snorlax and Blissey, and reliable damage. DG or EQ is all you need to dodge from either

Dunno about best attacker. Like I mentioned before, he's just Rhydon on steroids. Lots of weaknesses to consider. I think the best attacker is still Dragonite with dragon breath.

If dragonite with dragon breathe gets outrage as its charged move, then it would be, however dragon claw and dragon pulse aren't very good.

@conquistador, what is your quick move?

Bite or Iron Tail?

Bite/Stone Edge.

Just tried him out after the move update. Killed a 2k Venusaur with double grass moves without blinking. No dodging. Bite is damn quick now. Tyranitar FTW.
