Alright wtf with flee rate these days

Since the last update, i have the feeling that flee rate has been increased dramatically.
In the last few days, a huge number of pokemon fled me, even pidgeys and rats.
I always do a curve ball, and i usually aim for a great throw. Most of the time, it's enough to catch it. But almost everytime the pokemon broke out, it fled me

Am i the only one here who experienced this? Did niantic change anything to the flee rates? Or am i just extremely unlucky, as i've always been in this game (i.e. exactly 500 hatches, still not a single snorlax since july)
I mean it feels like catching Abras ^^

Pidgey has about 20% to flee away.

I experience the same thing ,I'm level 29 and I read that from level 28 to 32 this is normal , it will get better again by level 33.
And it happens to all pokemon at all levels not the higher ones only

it has nothing to do with trainer level, although it could be correlated with medal bonuses, but we are at a point where we all got the golden medal for each type i guess

and i'm currently lvl 33, still have the same issues unfortunately ^^

Yeah I really should go catch more jynx from the permanent nest in a nearby town just in case I ever see a Lapras again.

Really depends where you live. Ice and Steel were not that hard to get via Jynx and Magnemite.

Dragon is much harder for me though. Got all type medals except for Dragon which is at 80 / 200...

All? There are 19 types in the Pokémon main series, in which that the Gen 1 pokémon and the babies doesn't consist two of them: Dark and ???, while ??? has been removed from the game until Gen 7.

What I'm wondering is whether a Pokemon flees or not is determined before or after you have thrown the ball. Experience makes me assume it's determined beforehand.

Try catching ducks, they don't know how to flee.

Especially rats ^^.

Probably just bad luck, I've gone through phases of this before. For a while it seemed like one out of every 3 or 4 days I had more than 50% flee in a day (wasn't consistently throwing curve balls but was around your level) to the point that I just accepted it would happen every few days. Currently level 32. Still haven't hatched a Lapras btw.

SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO ME...

I was going to post about this... pokemon are escaping way too often.. even when they have a green circle and right after the first ball!!! Even if its a great throw...

I've notice lately... even a low CP mons can easily flee...
I can say, flee rate increased by 10-20% more....

The equations / probabilities for catch rates and flee rates are set.

You probably just hit a bad streak. Combination of being on the wrong side of both the catch rate and the flee rate. It's not crazy for crappy mons to flee, especially the higher CP ones which you will find more of as you level up as a Trainer.

Combination of two things:

Random luck - the nature of random numbers means you get short good periods and short bad periods in amongst average periods.

As you climb levels you get a greater number of high level Pokemons which are harder to catch than low level ones. It's easy to forget that a 375cp Rat is fairly high level.

well i hit level 30 back in november, so pokemon levels are as high as they were 3 months ago, and i felt this flee rate change only in the last week or so
