Hunting Shiny pokemons
I have been observing about getting shiny Pokemons. At the previous community day, I caught 6 shiny Dratinis. That day I was catching tons of Dratinis non-stop during the 3 hours.
However, today and yesterday, the Pikachu event came and I have been catching less, just 5 high IV-Pikachus per day (figured out from map scan of course.) Although, I spent most of my time clicking on Pikachus to search for shiny ones and run away if they are not shiny because they are wasting the balls. After watching my statistics of finding Pikachus, I got 270 encounters with just 56 catches in total record, not having any sight of a shiny one.
So my hypothesis is that, you have to be catching tons of those Pokemons before you can find the shiny ones. Has anyone been experiencing the same way as I do?

I got a shiny after catching about a hundred.
I also got 100k stardust in one day just by playing from home to work, work to home. Not a waste of balls at all. What's a waste, it's time. Transferring them one by one... But after today I may do a mass evolution Pikachu session to make more out of this waste of time..
