How many 100% IV mons have you gotten? + An evolve question

Level 33, only 2 perfect ones, Gyarados and Blastoise both with the best offensive moves and maxed out, 1 from a 176 CP magikarp caught in the wild and another from a 2k egg Squirtle.

The 2 followers are two dragonites both with 96% IV evolved from dratinis caught in the wild, one with DB/HB and the other with SW/DP, still have to power the second one, not enough dust and candies at the moment (dratinis seem to have disappeared from my town since just before the halloween event)

I have not seen a difference getting best IV mons when reaching level 30 myself, the magikarp is after level 30 but the Squirte was before ;)

Wild: Magikarp(now a perfect Gyarados with perfect moves) , Charmander (actually Charmeleon with hungry) and a veery low level Nidoran Male.

From eggs only a Machop (actually a hungry Machoke)

Level 30 and have three 100%. Caught an Eevee with perfect IVs and got lucky with a Hydro Pump Vaporeon. The others are a (useless) Hitmonlee that I hatched and an Arbok.

Gyarados level 40 100% perfect: CP3281
Gyarados level 40 91% perfect: CP3244

The difference is stupid, obviously it's cool to get one 100% perfect, but maybe you get one and he comes with Twister, somethinng with much more importance than these 40CPs

31 lvl no 100% iv mons. My best was 97% wild eevee, turned into vaporeon.

Around 7-10, all from eggs I believe. Most are pretty junky. I've hardly ever checked catches unless it's something I'm really interested in. Lvl 33 between 1000-1100 eggs.

I've had good luck with the magikarp, not perfect but multiple lvl 25+ with 90s iv. I wouldn't let that influence your decision though, it took me months to find a good spot to find them.

i am a lvl 35, turning 36 really soon here, and from over 12k++ pokemons ive caught so far, ive only ever gotten TWO 100% iv pokemons (ratatas and pidges dont count).

first time i got a 100% iv growlithe a while back ago, evolved it got bulldoze and dumped him right away

second, got geodude and he is my little sweet heart now as u can see below.. i maxed it coz why not, it's literally my one and only one 100% iv mon :D

Level 27, 3 perfects that I know of. Maybe I transferred a perfect Pidgey when I was new. Paras, zubat and ekans.

Caught the zubat, other two were eggs. You're not any more likely to get higher IVs from being a higher level except indirectly - higher level players will most likely have a higher egg hatch count and caught more Pokemon, but each catch or egg hatch doesn't have increased IVs compared to lower level players.

Don't bother looking for a perfect one if you just want a Gyarados to actually use and not just collect. Evolve the magikarp you have. The difference between yours and an 100% IV one is negligible.

Level 33
3 perfect pkmns:

Wild Eevee--->Vaporeon (during my first week, one of the very first I evolved, if not the very first) HydroPump! It's actually my highest CP pkmn at 2909.

Bellsprout from egg--->Victreebel with Acid Sludge Bomb XS (I also got a perfectly imperfect Bellsprout with 0/0/0 IVs!).

Ponyta from egg--->Rapidash with Ember and Drill Run...

3 out of 4 Gyarados I evolved were level 20, and came out of eggs (96, 98, 98 IVs), but I encounter magikarp everyday.

Btw I suggest to change your buddy for some Dratini, Snorlax or Lapras if you can :).

Level 36, 6 by egg, 1 catched
2 Exeggcutes, one catched (lvl 27), both evolved nicely
2 Ekans: Evolved to best and second best moves.
1 Squirtle: Evolved very bad
1 Psyduck: Evolved nicely
1 Dugduo: Got excellent defense moves, for what it is worth :-)

Im 30 too and got :
Vaporeon (HP)
Exeggcute evolved into exeggutor with C/P
Dratini (catched) evolved into perfect defensive dragonite
And i'd evolve that magikarp.

L27. Never caught a perfect Mon but hatched an Omanyte and a Pikachu. Both got terrible charge moves when I evolved them (Ancient Power and Brick Break respectively).

Only 1: Got a 100% Poliwag in the wild, fortunatly turned into a Poliwrath with bubble and hydropump. Now I got him maxed out at 29.5 (I'm 28) for fun lol as he can't do much.

I got it when I was 24. And also I got a 98% Magmar hatched with ember/fire blast.

One dragonite with SW/DC and one gyarados with twister.

Lv 32 - Out of those I've checked (I don't check Pokes I'm not interested in keeping) one hatched Rhyhorn and one caught Venomat. I do have a 0% Evee though :-)

You will catch higher level Magikarp with patience, but getting one with as good a set of IVs and a higher level could take months. Having said that I hatched the 100% Rhyhorn just as I'd powered up a 93% Rhydon to lv29...

Almost lvl 30 also. So far, only caught 2 perfect mons (really low level Voltorb and really low level Rattata, not that they would have been useful anyways haha). Never hatched a 100% and only a couple 98%'s, but I have only hatched 136 eggs

lvl 30, one Jiggly cought, lvl 17, zero from eggs; but I don,t ckeck low cp pokes(except eevees :) , eggs and growlithe), that means right now I would miss that jiggly. And I started in sept so I missed the period with the bug regarding high ivs dratini and eevees.

i have two 100% ivs pokemons. A eevee that i evolved to vaporeon with hidropump and another eevee that i didnt evolved yet. I have another eevee with 97% and a gloom with 97%. I cathed 1335 pokemons im level 24.

My 100% rhydon comes with Rock Smash and Earthquake. I wonder if it worths the stardust to lv up

Caught a 100% Paras
2 - 100% Eevees that both turned into Jolteons and one had discharge (terrible).
100% Weedle that is now a Beedrill (yah! lol)

And my pride and joy - 100% bulbasaur (hatched) that got the best defensive most set. So pumped as I want him as a gym trophy. Been walking candies forever with this guy to try to max him out. Man the candies go slow....

Level 32 with 2 perfect mons: A Slowbro with Water Gun/Psychic and a Hitmonlee with a B moveset. I haven't powered up either.

Reached level 39 today, I know I play a lot:) 7 perfect Iv"s 5 hatched 2 caught, 20 Pokémon at 98%

As for your Magikarp dilemma; I'd wait a bit for a higher level, good IV, Magikarp before evolving. Saves lots of dust and candy versus evolving lower level ones! I've found that at Level 30 I'm encountering many high (28 to 30) level mons in the wild. In fact in last two days I came across two Magikarps at level 30 in a Home Depot parking lot they pop up in periodically that is no where near major water; but only 60 and 62% IV's. But admittedly I couldn't wait on some, such as my first (still only) Dragonite which I knowlingly evolved from a 36% IV Dratini because it was the best balance of level and IV I had at the time.

one nidoking (with perfect moveset)

The caught ones were eevee, the two tauros, omanyte, and kabuto. Rest were hatched. Level 34.

For the first few months of the game, there was a bug where wild caught pokemon would have an Atk IV that pretty directly correlated with their pokedex number. Most wild Bulbasaurs, Charmanders, Pidgeys, etc. at the beginning of the pokedex would have 0-3 Atk IV, where as wild Eevee, Magikarp, Dratini, etc would have 12-15 Atk IV. High pokedex numbers caught during this time were much more likely to have a high overall IV percentage.

I have several 100% IVs that date to the time of the Atk IV bug:
- Three Eevees evolved to Thunder Bolt, Heat Wave, Hydro Pump (low level powered up to ~1000cp for training for now)
- Magikarp evolved to Bite+Dragon Pulse (powered up to about lv32)
- Dratini evolved to Steel Wing+Hyper Beam (really low level, not yet powered up)

Hatched:
- Zubat evolved to Wing Attack (trained against Venusaur a few times, eagerly awaiting gen2.)
- Dodou (why bother evolving? Why did I even bother appraising?)

After the Atk IV bug was fixed, I have gotten:
- Growlithe evolved to Bite+Fire Blast
- Sandshrew evolved to Mud Shot+Earthquake (perfect moveset and at a perfect CP for training against Arcanines, only to a week later have Arcanine get nerfed and be bosted itself out of typical training ranges)

Perfect snorlax(lick body slam)
Perfect dragonite(steel pulse)
Perfect golem ( rock tr stone edge)
Perfect licktung, who cares.
Perfect vileplume, who cares
Perfect gengar( claw ball)

Regarding your Magikarp question - I have 2 Gyarados that I evolved, one is 98% and the other is 96%. They were both L20 when I hatched them. I've not seen a Magikarp above L20 and very few Pokemon I have caught are higher than L20 - once in a rare while - and since IV are very unlikely to be high on a wild catch, you're probably best served hatching a high IV L20 Magikarp and biting the bullet on the candy/stardust (candy comes very easy for these guys).

I have another 5 Magikarp over 91% IV... all L20 - if my experience is worth much, you may as well start grinding the stardust you need. :)

Level 28 caught 2 found 1..... found Ditto hidden as Magikarp, would've rather had 100% magikarp

Anyone think 100% ditto would be any good?

I've hatched 4 perfect IV's Mons: Ponyta, Abra, Bellsprout and Oddish.

Rapidash and Vileplume turned out meh (Low Kick/Heatwave and Acid/Petal Blizzard) but my Victreebel got Razor Leaf/Solar Beam. I haven't been able to fully evolve my Abra yet but Kadabra so far has Psycho Cut/Shadow Ball which is his best offensive moveset so I'm scared to evolve and get stuck with Confusion/Dazzling Gleam Alakazam.

I don't think I've caught a perect IV mon in the wild though.

I'm Level 33.

Almost reaching lvl 33. I have 7 100% IVs:
Chansey lvl 15 (wild) just waiting to evolve to Blissey, Cloyster lvl 33.5 with FB/B (hatched Shellder), Golbat lvl 20 (hatched Zubat), Ponyta lvl 19 (wild), Persian lvl 20 (hatched Meowth), Psyduck lvl 26 (wild) and my last wild caught: a Diglett lvl 4 CP 48 and both ground type moves, that it's not useless if you manage to catch a Magnimite with CP 96 and bad IVs for training and level up a gym really fast.

Retardless, answering your question, I think depends on your needs, if you struggle to defeat gyms with the Pokémon you already have than you should power up Gyarados.

Congrats on the Poliwhirl. Do you think Politoed will be better than Poliwrath?
I too am almost about to level up to 30. I never really paid attention to IVs until recently. I was more about completing the US pokedex, but since I've done that, I've been bored and paying attention to IVs. I hatched a 100% Horsea and evolved to Seadra with dragon breath/blizzard. Looks like that could payoff with gen2 and Kingdra. Also hatched a 100% Lapras with Frost Breath/Ice Beam. Cheers.

Got 4 100 IVs however; this is the only Pokémon I'm proud of. The other 3 are Weezing, Raticate and Venomoth. Raticate has the best offensive moveset but who the hell cares? My Weezing and Venomoth is pure trash.
