Snorlax
I have hatched 3 Snorlax total during my pokemon career and caught a handful on top. I powered up one so far and collected enough candy during the event to be able to power up a second one. One of the caught ones is interesting so after my maxed ZH/BS Snorlax with 76% IV there are three options.
Lvl 20 89% IV ZH/EQ Lvl 20 80% IV L/HB Lvl 18 80% IV ZH/HBI want my Snorlax to be a defender, I have enough attackers! Would you power one of those guys up? Would you rather wait on another one with ZH/HS or one with higher IVs with ZH/HB, or is ZH/EQ enough?
Thanks in advance!

Yep, I have a 62IV Snorlax that I caught on my block and didn't think much of it. Until they made BS better and it became a legacy moveset. Luckily my Snorlax has 14Attack so his CP isn't too bad actually for being 62%. I continue to power him up when I get the candies.
As for HB vs HS - yes Heavy Slam is better for defense. My 89% ZH/HS Snorlax is next on my list to power up, over my HB ones.
I don't know what you mean about having enough candy to power one up, but unless you have enough to take one all the way up to level 33 or so, I would do one of two things:
- Power up the L/HB to CP 2300-2400 or so, for use as an attacker. I know you say you have enough attackers, but do you have a Snorlax attacker? It's essentially like a super Wigglytuff, and can fill the same generalist niche that Wiggly does for prestiging. In other words, use it as your sixth attacker to handle any defender when your specialists falter sooner than expected. L/HB Snorlax is actually a very fun and reliable attacker to use against almost anything.
- Save your candies until you have enough to power up the ZH/EQ to a level that will get a decent spot in high-level gyms (level 33+ in my area). You just might hatch a better one (say, ZH/HS, or higher IV's) in the meantime.
