Where can I find Larvitar & Mt. Moon Biomes?

So I've slowly managed to find Dratini occasionally by rivers, although I still don't know how people get several Dragonites when they're at my same level, and I only just reached enough for one. I know that they spawn most in Mt. Moon biomes. Is there any way to determine where a Mt. Moon biome is besides lots of Clefairys?

And then here's the main question: Where the heck can I find Larvitar? I've been playing extremely often in a residential area since the release of Gen 2, and haven't even seen one on the Nearby list. I've hatched two so far. How is everyone getting enough Larvitar candy to get a Tyranitar so fast, and where can I find Larvitars?

I was near an apartment complex when I saw one on sighting but I could get in to catch it that is the only time I have seen them on sightings.

Eggs. From eggs.

The only problem is I have gotten nothing but 5k eggs since the event started (with one 2k egg)! Fewer 10k's than I ever get :(

RNG is messing with me!

I hatched a bunch of them when gen 2 first came out. As far as wild Larvitar, I see them in neighborhoods, same biome as Snorlax.

Also, I think Dragonite spawns in different locations than Dratini. I have never seen one in an area where I have seen the other. There are places that are known for spawning Dragonites, such as Rice Park in St. Paul and Lexington ave in Eagan.

Really? I'm drowning in Snorlax but no Larvitars.

Interesting. Larvitars have gone up around here, all over the neighborhoods, I had 2 in my screen at a time. Normally they are about as rare as a Snorlax.

There is no real rock component here at all in normal times though. Rhydons are about as rare as Snorlax. I had collected about 50 of each in the wild. There must be another component at work.

Rock is pretty rare here too. Caught a wild Rhydon and some Rhyhorns, but most have been hatched. I don't think Larvitar is in a normal rock biome.

I've never seen one in the wild (until today, during this rock event), but had enough to evolve a tyranitar solely due to hatches (especially two hatched during the easter event).

I found one Larvitar in a park, the other downtown in a place were all kinds of rare mon spawn occasionally.

Once every week or two I will see one at chik-fil-a on my way to school, near a pokestop with an image of three rocks lol

In order to get my Tyranitor, I hatched three eggs, caught three larvitar, and walked hundreds of Km with a larvitar as a buddy.
