Anyone sick of Legidaries in Counters?
Every time i go into a list of counters to raids, the ones ALWAYS listed at the top as the supreme counters are always legendaries (and i get why, they at legendaries and they are powerful as heck) But seriously, it gets annoying because thats ALL that is listed alot of the time as the supreme counters, and many times in the Good Counters as well are legendaries, save for a (small) handful of non-legendaries.
Maybe have a special counters category for JUST legendaries to it doesn't seem like if you dont have this one or two legendaries, you cant beat this raid. I dont know if its just me, but it bugs me.

The point is a sizable number of that are considered the 'best options' are legendaries, and those are not always available to everyone, either in good IV's or at all because of not having a chance to catch them, yes they are good counters, but if the legendaries are taken out, most of what are left are either glass counters, or other rare species
I understand you, although i think they do a good job at adding non-legendary options. But i think it would be nice if they added more non-legendary counters for the lower level raids. My only legendary is Moltres and i can solo most of the tier 3 raids, sometimes using unusual attackers (still cant believe how good sunflora was against omastar once my main grass attackers fainted).
Edit: Forgot to add, you can always look at the graphic at the bottom of the page, they usually add more counters there and how good is their damage.
I think there is a good balance of legends and non legends for counters because for some it even indicates that how common the mon is kind of determines how available it is and thus more likely to have. That said it is annoying being told you’re electric Pokémon are all useless unless it’s Wild Charge Raikou. Others it makes sense but I’ve been fine getting by using pretty much zero legendaries barring Groudon who has proven very useful to me for Gengar raids especially. Mostly in double SE damage they should include more options but even then I guess that most would be creative in using different things instead of only 10 meta relevant Pokémon only
"it is annoying being told you’re electric Pokémon are all useless unless it’s Wild Charge Raikou"
You are not being told anything, it's just a cold hard truth that nothing electric comes even close to Raikou, and thus, all other options are either unviable or OBVIOUS alternatives because they all perform basically the same (which is mediocre in comparison to their legendary daddies) that it doesn't matter if you go at it with a Jolteon or Ampharos or Electrode.
Anything not shown in the graphs at the bottom of each counter page is basically replaceable by anything else. It would make no sense and take a ridiculous amount of time to list EVERY SINGLE non-legendary alternative that isn't even relevant. People need to work on acquiring or powering up what is listed on those pages if they lack the relevant legendaries or do the calculations for them themselves if they don't trust/like/approve the simulations run by the staff here and persist on using suboptimal choices for no reason other than laziness.
And I mean this with the utmost respect.
It makes a huge difference whether you use Jolteon, Ampharos or Electrode. Raikou is head and shoulders above all competition, but so is Jolteon head and shoulders above all non-legendary competition. Ampharos may be a viable counter for some tier 3 raids but Electrode sure as hell isn't.
That's why the top non-legendary attackers page exists. Everything but the top counter being replaceable with each other is just not true.
They are listed as the supreme counters because they are.....well....the SUPREME COUNTERS!
Yes, there are people who might not have every legendary out there, but that doesn't mean a legendary isn't the best.
Heck, there are players out there without a Tyranitar, should we exclude that one as well? Or what about Gen 1 Pokemon that some recent players might not have?
It's quite simple really. If a Legendary is the best option, then it should be listed as such. If you don't have it, then move on to the next best thing.
Just because (looking at your example) you don't have a Mewtwo, Rayquaza or a Lugia, it does not mean you are screwed. It just mean that you might have to use an Alakazam or a Gardevoir - Pokemon that might not be the best, but are certainly not a poor option.
You don't have to be mad if you don't have any legendaries now. If things are going the way they are going with field research quests, you will get those legendaries on the list. I know it seems unfair that in certain places in the world or in the country that there aren't enough poke gyms or pokemon players but you will have to accept what your conditions are. Either that or you can just quit. You can just play the pokemon series games on a different system. I am not trying to be mean but that's just the truth of it. At least I can show you there is a brighter side. I think we all these different events and community days; Ninantic has made it easier to obtain some of the pokemon that's normally available to you. During the Kanto event they made it easy to get a lot of magikarp candy. The wind event they made it easier to hatch dragon and psychic types.
Game press lists the top counters to every raid boss, and the fact is that most of the top counters are legendary, because legendarys have better stats. They do list lots of none legendary pokemon and if you don't have access to the legendary or the rare candy then just ignore the legendarys, and use the counters that you have access to.
The sad thing is not that this rant is wishing for something unreasonable. The really sad thing is that it is ranting about something that is simple not the case. The supreme counters are always legendaries? Let's have a look:
Level 5, Mewtwo: Supreme: Tyranitar
Level 5, Lugia: Supreme: Raikou, Tyranitar
Level 5, Latios: Supreme: Rayquaza, Dragonite, Latios, Salamence, Tyranitar
Level 5, Latias: Supreme: Rayquaza, Tyranitar, Dragonite, Salamence
Level 4, Absol: Supreme: Machamp, Hariyama
Level 4, Aggron: Supreme: Machamp, Hariyama, Groudon
Level 4, Houndoom: Supreme: Kyogre, Good: Machamp, Hariyama, Gyarados
Level 4, Tyranitar: Supreme: Machamp, Hariyama
Level 4, Walrein: Supreme: Machamp, Raikou
In level 3 there are some bosses, that have multiple legendaries only in the supreme category. But even in this case there are many non-legendaries listed as good counters.
