Grass Knot Roserade is now the best grass type even considering Frenzy plant Sceptile, Ho-Oh has a marginal chance at getting an fire type fast move with hidden power, Honchkrow is now the best flying type DPS with Sky atack and Donphan is now an usable ground type atacker in virtue of getting mud slap as fast move, nowhere near Groudon or Rhyperior but still viable.
Is it just me, or is DP/RS champ too good?
After giving my maxed 100% machamp a second charge move, and taking it out for a test on the closest gyms i could find, the combination of Dynamich punch's fantastic power and effectiveness on the big tanks/tyranitar and the defensive counter coverage rockslide gives (hitting gyarados, dragonite, Charizard, togekiss, all common defenders for counting machamp and slowing it, and also hitting gardevoir for neutral damage, much better coverage than the original second move I gave it, heavy slam) almost makes it too good.
It already was sharing the spot as best gym clearer with metagross, machamp for its high DPS and effectiveness against the common tanks, and metagross for its, while lower DPS, better defensive match ups and neutral damage against machamp's defensive coutners. Machamp was a great gym clearer, but it did have its speed bump match ups, where metagross came in 9 times out of 10. But the addition of rockslide essentially makes those speed bump match ups nonexistent, as fighting/rock hit most things for neutral damage as worst, and super effective on most defenders. Gyarados was great for reliably resisting both metagross and machamp, but rockslide removes that. Rockslide seemingly took an already amazing pokemon and brought it to a new level. The only pokemon that are seemingly common defenders that weren't hit by SE damage from machamp before and still arent now are metagross, milotic, venusaur. gardevoir, from a certain point saw a bit of a buff if people carry rockslide more than heavy slam, but its frail to begin with.
One thing I am a bit glad about is that this makes machamp raids a bit more interesting, before Moltres with sky attack and Ho-oh sets was a reliable counter, resisting everything, the rockslide now makes those not reliable, but still great in the match ups. Its going to be a fun challenge going agaisnt rockslide in raids, as its much more commonly boosted than heavy slam.
Not a complaint, but mostly an observation. Are any of the other current new movesets complete all stars at anything?

Of all the new moves I'm most curious about Shadow Ball Raikou. I have one I haven't powered up beyond the Ultra League cap yet and realized while fighting someone last night a Shadow Ball Raikou could have dealt SE damage to everybody in their team (Feraligatr/Charizard/Giratina). I'm thinking TS/WC/SB is its best moveset, given Thunderbolt is now a more expensive WC.
I kind of fail to see how this makes Machamp harder unless you deliberately bring fire types in, you will see from the autoselect which charge move it has. A team of Espeons/Alakazams/Gardevoirs probably murders RS Machamp pretty easily with minimal dodging and they're much cheaper to get than Moltres or Ho-Oh.
That said, deliberately trying to solo RS Machamp with a team of unique fire types sounds fun.
