I have a decent grumpig and good claydol I was looking to use for the great league. Are they any good? And is mirror coat really worse than psychic even though MC is a two bar move? Thanks
Claydol is not a good tank as it has very common weaknesses from ground type: Water, grass and ice. Unless put vs electrical attacker it is a worse option than Grumpig imho.
Mirror coat is better in pvp, Psychic does 100 damage for 70 energy, while mirror coat does 60 for 55. You may not fire off a psychic before getting ko'ed.
Psychic is awful when compared to standart elemental heavy hitters like hydro pump or blizzard, they do 130 damage for 75 energy.
Sadly, the light clay and reflect/lightscreen do not exist, otherwise claydol might be good
But in all seriousness, claydol possesses a large number of weaknesses to common types seen, the big ones being ghost and water. Ive seen people in my area use a fair number of blastoise and giratina, as well as a scizor and shadow ball Lucario.
