I'm wondering which one to evolve for these raids, its not going to be sunny for the next couple of days, so as a counter to kyogre, electric will be the better one.
For my groudon coutners I have 2 kyogre, 2 gyarados above level 35, I have 1 HC gatr I can get to level 35, a few good eggtrees, and 3 high level FP venusaur
for Kyogre, the grass types are the constant, but my only other electric type is a single high level TS zapdos.
Is roserade a good option against both of them? Or just go for the better damage against kyogre?
Roserade is in between Venusaur and Breloom. If you want stellar damage, go Breloom, and bulk and good damage, go Venusaur. On top of that, Roserade has a one bar charge move, which doesnt support it's slightly above Breloom bulk.
Plus, Electivire can get two moves for cheap (baby) and get Thunder Punch which can get a hit in on Kyogre before it can get off the killing Waterfall.
Based on this, I'd go for Electivire all the way, especially if you don't have a Raikou or two. (Damage bonus)
Another angle to look at this question is how big the raid party is. If you always raid with many other trainers then very likely Roserade won't release a single solar beam before OHKOed. But using Electivire you can at least throw one wild charge sometimes two and if you get a second charge move Thunder Punch (it's 10000 dust + 25 candies for Eleckid) you can have more flexibility. I have both roserade and electivire and my experience would say electivire is a better option.
Depends on how much people want/need Kyogre. If they're throwing Aggron and Blissey at them, then use Electric types and Breloom to get more damage balls. If they're hardcore then you make sure you don't faint out by adding a couple Venusaur or Raikou. (I've got 6 balls one time; believe me, you don't want to be there)
I'd go Electivire first - it's good even against Blizzard Kyogre. Roserade get's frozen fast against Blizzard. Don't write off Jolteon to pad out your electrics either - he's not the best these days but a high cp Jolteon is still perfectly usable. I like Roserade - glassy but does good damage against Groudon and in sunny weather against 2 of the 3 Kyogre moves, but if you've got to choose one or the other I'd go Electivire first.
