Rhydon & Golem Solo raid

With the raid bosses rotation Both Golem and Rhydon are back as Tier 4's. It is possible to solo them on Sunny weather using 6 Lv 40 Grass-types? I'm up to the challenge.

Rhydon is possible with grass team in sunny weather. For Golem the only viable option is Kyogre in rain.

Exactly. I tried the Rhydon (RS/Surf) with 6 FP (not 100%) Venusaurs in Sunny and won with 8 sec left.
According to pokebattler, Golem is possible too, but I haven't got 6 maxed Kyogres (and I don't want to max them), so I can't confirm.

I have 1 FP Venusaur maxed out. I wonder if Roserade and Two Kantonian exeggutors with Solarbeam would work out too.

I dont think so, you seem to need venusaur with frenzy plant, as frenzy plant is one of the strongest moves in the game in order to do this. When we get sceptile with frenzy plant, it might make it easier, but that wont be for another 2 months

I duo'd Golem in Sunny with a mix of Exeggutors, Sceptiles and FP Venusaurs over the summer and I don't think any of them were over level 35. It should be even easier now. Proceed with confidence

Edit: Nevermind, you said solo. Plz disregard

According to Pokebattler against Rhydon, Roserade consistently has TTW less than 180s against any given moveset and FP Venusaur against select movesets.

Golem requires rain boosted maxed Kyogre, even that'll be cutting it close.

Somebody in the world will solo Golem...I doubt more than 10 people in the world will solo Golem.

Probably only extremists who want the glory of completing T4 solos. There's little reason to actively want to raid Golem when Rhydon is right there while also being an easier solo.

For a lot of people the purpose of gaming is the challenge. Just think of it as a different difficulty setting :)

Not saying there's anything wrong with that. I just don't expect many people to attempt it since the rewards for such a challenge are pretty low outside of bragging rights.

Also I don't expect too many to have 6 maxed out Kyogre to attempt it in the first place.

Rhyperior kinda mage golem obsolete. Golem at least had the leg of Tyranitar's set was legacy, and it was the next best, Now, theres Rhyperior.

That's what I'm getting at. Golem was always the inferior ground type attacker even compared to Rhydon, now that Rhydon is a gateway to a better rock type attacker as well why bother doing Golem raids other than the glory of a T4 solo? Especially when Rhydon is an even easier solo?

Only reason I could see is for beign able to say you did it, but even then, that really doesnt mean a lot.

Its not like being able to solo a rayquaza or anything

Plus soloing the Rhydon is gonna get you a boosted one;) The Golem will get you a really wet phone after your 5th try. Having said that, I'm not an efficient player but I have two 4100 Kyogre and a shiny 3775 Kyogre...probably wouldn't need all 6 to have a 1% chance to win (maybe 5 maxed?).

Oh right, because clear weather boosts Rhydon. All the more reason to pass over Golem solos in favor of it.

Not that it's needed as it turns out; there's a video on TSR of someone solo-ing a MS/EQ Rhydon with a team of Kyogre, no weather boost. All 6 were needed, 5 seconds on the clock when the swap icon disappeared. Empty party trick used.

How viable is Gyarados for soloing Rhydon in rain?

Cuts it very close. Technically has TTW of less than 180s against all movesets in the rain but not by much. Will likely require the lobby trick for extra time.
