On the flip side, anyone playing the game long enough will eventually get them. Farfetch'd was released worldwide over a year ago and we had the end of summer Kanto event that helped people round out their Kanto Pokedex. I wouldn't be surprised to see these things happen for other regionals as well. I'm just glad I was able to trade one of them for a Volbeat before they lost status as being sought after, which itself will likely lose its regional charm eventually as well.
I'm not trying to be mean, but if you have so little time to play that you only hatch 5 eggs during a 3-week event, maybe you shouldn't be expecting much?
EDIT: And I'm saying this as someone who hatched about 5 7km eggs during the christmas event. And because I hatched so few, I didn't expect to get anything anyway.
Meh, all it would do is devalue regionals. Not that there's any actual "value" to it, but what little value there is would be lost.
There's very few trophy-mons in the game anymore. Even shiny mons aren't that special. The regionals are about as close as you can get to exclusivity within the regions - and even that is minimized. Trading would eliminate that.
