Future Heatran Signature moves?

I have a 96% and am just wondering if there are any signature moves that could be released that could make it the best fire type. Was hoping for a little more variety in the fire move pool like lava plume or magma storm and kind of grown weary of the fire moves that date back to Flareon. Anyone else holding back? I’m hesitant because of MM Metagross.

Given that the first legendary Lugia had its 4th run and still doesn’t have its exclusive move, it’s safe to say that heatran return, if it packs an exclusive move, will be so far away.

The birds dont really count because Hurricane, TS and sky attack are not exclusive moves. No legendary had been introduced with an exclusive move yet.

That‘s actually not quite true, they gave Deoxys its signature move Psycho Boost. But I agree that we likely won‘t see any other anytime soon

I addressed that below, but deoxys is a special case anyway as the move was never blocked out and was available from the beginning.

I hope not. If Niantic does it, i hope they can allow player to obtain that signature move through TM. A lot of players already upset for the exclusive moves during the CD. A lot of them with 100% iv monsters but could not obtain that powerful exclusive moves. you know, it cost money just for that perfect one.

Magmastorm. I could see them doing this sometime in the future, but that is a very far future. The haven't released any signature moves aside from Deoxys.

Good point. I missed deoxys when writing my response, because this move is quite terrible

I was going to ask the same question...I got a 15a lucky level 25 today that already had fire moves...wondering if mid-Jan or later even worth putting earned heatran candies toward Heatran 1.0

Current heatran finds itself as a ubertanky counter to grass, bug, ice and steel types, trading off DPS for substantially greater TDO, or being a good pokedraft candidate in sunny areas

Its not going to be too much of a good raid attacker as the types it covers we have other pokemon already powered up that can take care of them, and while it is great for PvP, theres no rewards beyond dust for it. I dont see much need for a heatran if you already have high level entei/moltres or a large supply of BB starters unless you do pokedrafts.

Obviously Heatran is easy to obtain, but getting a lucky is a worthwhile objective. I have a level 37 Entei, and two fire Moltres at 35 and 37. Shiny flying Moltres at 33. My two biggest Charizards are no better than level 34. While I'm at 44 Heatran candy already, not like I'll get 200+.

I don't really PvP competitively but is kind of a screwball addition to a lineup that can surprise bc not worth RC and probably not worth full dust cost.

When was the last time a T5 raid boss was given new moves in a special day? Sky attack for Moltres? What a game-changer that was... Thunder shock Zapdos...earth-moving... By the time Heatran gets a "signature" fire move, you might have moved on to other pursuits and have a less dreary life free of apps meant to give you purpose.

This raid boss seems built to bolster extra accounts, it might not be meta-great for someone’s elite level account, but the easy candy (easy boost) could be helpful to someone’s nephew/10 year old kid that couldn’t make it to the raid.
