Relevance of breakpoints and bulkpoints for PvP, can we have a cost-efficient Master League?
PvP arrived and all the hype around it has struck my stardust reserves too hard. I feel that things went out of hands and I will need to make the best of the next double dust event to partially compensate the huge expenses.
The reason for this hasn't only been opening new slots to my pokemon, it's also due to level up (max out) several months that I previously used at around breakpoint levels for raid bosses.
Contemplating my poor dust reserves (like game start level, two years ago...sigh!) brought up the question: was it really necessary?
I assume that breakpoints apply the same to PvP moves, but we still need a calculator for them. Optimising the balance between damage and bulk would probably save us a lot of unnecessary stardust, that we would better use teaching a second move.
So, the questions are:
- Is there someone at GP team (or elsewhere) working on a breakpoint/bulkpoint calculator for PvP?
- What's the most efficient level for each of the dominant species in Master league, bearing in mind their main targets and counters?
Any thoughts?

While the maths could be certainly programmed, what's the point? Either you're fully maxing one of a very short list of Pokémon or you're purposefully using a non-optimal Master League team.
It's not like Ultra or Great League with a longer, more complex list of viable mon. In which the goal is to push your various teams as close to 1500/2500 as is practicable.
Well if you really, really want to win your fights against your friends in Master League, you are going to fully max out and upgrade your team, even if the advantage you get is minimal, that's what being competitive means.
Is it necessary? Well, no, not at all. For the purpose of getting the rewards, it actually doesn't matter if you win or lose the battles, everyone gets random rewards.
The thing is, you really want to win, everyone wants to win. Some people want it more than others, but you can be sure nobody likes losing, even if it's just a silly casual game.
So, how much do you need to spend? Well it's not THAT much, since you can only use 3 pokemon, and you may want to have 1 or 2 extra to get some rotation and avoid getting countered.
If you say you've already maxed out and upgraded "several" mons, then you should be good to go? I mean, you don't need a maxed out pokedex to win some 3v3 fights.
