Is it just RNG, or is Heatran incredibly easy to catch?

Yesterday, my friend saw a Heatran in where he was. He had access to my account as well, as because we were far apart, I told him to raid for me. He isn't good at throwing balls, at least not at throwing Excellents (I usually have to catch Giratina and Cresselia for him) and he easily caught both of them, though both had CPs above 2100. Later that night I and him raided another Heatran, he caught it using only 1 ball, while I took 2. Is Heatran that easy to catch?

One notable thing is, he just started, and only has silver Fire and Steel badges while I have both gold.

All depending on how lucky your RNG is. RNG clearly hates me to the point I lost a weather boosted hundo Heatran....

”Hundo” is like a more fancy way of calling a pokemon who is 100 iv imo lol. Theres also Shundo (a shiny 100iv pokemon)

"Hundo" slips off the tongue easier and gives you more street cred to say than "perfect" and whatnot would.
There's also the "nundo" which is anything with 0/0/0

The real question is why did people all of a sudden start labeling the IVs of a Pokemon by percentages

"A fancy way"
I miss the point entirely in this.
It just sounds like people trying too hard to come up with another pointless slang to be part of the "cool trendy" group -_-

RNG. 13/15 on my account (Gold types), Great Curve, 8/14 on my kids (Silver types), curved with no modifier.

I have opposite feeling. I with 4 friends did two Heatran raids, and noone of us caught him, so it was 0/10. I had 98% in my first try ;/

Pretty hard to land excellent.

It is one of the easiest to land excellent throws at for me since Mewtwo

Cresselia was my favorite with Excellents. Giratina wasnt good also to throw.

I hate everything that moves horizontally so Cresselia was a general "no for me

It's easy, just make the red circle as big as the grey bulb on its head.

Easy to beat means 14-18 balls to throw at it many times. I was 20/20 catching Cresselia, I don’t claim to be a throwing expert either...curve either nice or great (no circle locking). A strong account=buncha balls. 3/3 on this one.

For me, heatran is the most difficult level 5 boss to catch. I have trouble with timing his attack moves because they are so subtle. Tho I’ve only done one so far

I didn't catch the first one I saw due to a combination of learning the angle you have to throw to hit it in the middle of the head (it's less steep an angle than recent legendaries), not setting the circle small enough to be an excellent, several dropped balls when setting the circle, and a bunch of throws into double moves. The second one I caught with a great throw on my first ball. So personally, it's too early to tell. Others told me that they've found it more difficult to catch than the recent ones, but it just may be too early for them too.
