Double candy event

I understand that on the announcement it says double candy for catch and transfer. But will it also work for trades as well? I am new to the game so I haven't been around to see how the previous double candy events were like. Thanks

edit: Thanks for the answers. I had my hopes up but okay :( more Gulpin and Surskit candies for me

It says catch and transfer, it means catch and transfer only. They've been quite exact about bonuses for the last year.

I humbly disagree. Niantic has not been exact since they started Pogo. Only time will tell if we cannot get double candy for trading.

I was talking explicitly about announcing event bonuses, and they have been quite exact. There have been little to no cases of us getting bonuses that were not announced explicitly ever since the last unconditional bonus events last spring. All summer was characterized by bonuses specified for only certain types of activities, followed by more of the same all autumn, and those announcements held in each case.

They usually specify everything that the bonuses apply to, the only exception I've noticed being extra candy from berry feeding sometimes isn't specified. If it doesn't say trades then it likely won't extend to trades.

Is there double-candy for hatching pokemon? If not, I guess I'll wait for the double-stardust days.
