Was this Charizard Evolution worth it? (pic)

So, I recently got enough candies for charizard, finally. I was gonna not evolve till after the event but i couldn't resist.

(i hatched another charmander just the other day, but it was less than 82% -_- and who knows how long i would wait to get better)

Its a 86.7 IV Charizard
12/15/12

With the best moveset
Wing Attack & Fire Blast

(I was very happy to get that moveset, considering the chances.)

So, considering the 12/15/12 IVs, do you think it was worth? Or should i have tried to get a better one?

It was definitely worth it. Charizard is an offensive mon, and you got the best moveset (which is far more important for attacking than IVs are).

Plus the IVs are fine. You should be very happy about it, and I would even power it up a bit.

Cool, cheers.

Yeah it was just the lack of 15 in attack stat that i wasn't too sure about,

idealy sure, it would be better in the attack stat than defence but i guess you cant be too fussy right!

And yeah, like you said, the moveset makes the biggest difference which is why I was so glad not to get ember or something

i definitely plan to power it up, when i get more candies

You can easily go out there and obtain 125 candies for another evolution before the event is over. This Charizard looks pretty badass and is def. worth it.

True dat.

Ima try and catch as many as possible before the event ends.

The main problem is just how hard the starters are to catch xD such a drain on the pokeball count. for the first time ive actually ran out of berries!

Charizard's attack is the highest of its base stats, so getting high atk IV is not too critical, and I think getting a higher def or stm IV is better because of that. I'd say that IV distribution is really good with that moveset.

yeah...not really though about it like that.

So what the IV distribution does on mine, is increase one of Charizards weaker stat, while still benifiting from the high base attack.

So the IVs are actually reducing its main weaknesses while still doing allot of dmg

We are in opposite boats. I have WA/FT and want WA/FB. Why do you like FT over FB?

Same...I love zard but FT is a defensive moveset. Does anyone else feel WA/FT is strong on offense? To the point of powering up at least?

Yes! My WA/FT Charizard is one of my favorite attackers!
I don't have a Charizard with Fire Blast, but for other Pokémon (read: Arcanine) I find that I like Fire Blast and Flamethrower about the same with maybe a slight preference for Flamethrower.

Flamethrower isnt bad, but its just not as good as fireblast, so why do you want it instead ?

its better for defending sure, but if your using Charizard for defense then you are doing it wrong, dont ya think ?.

Stick someone more suited for defense in defense and use charizard as an attacker especially considering wing attack and fire blast is the best on offence

You should be proud of your Charizard... Make him more stronger Mon...

Are you asking a question or showing off?

3 points of IV makes no difference in practice...

As others have said, he is an impressive beast. I finally evolved my first Charizard and managed to catch another - both have Dragon Claw... gutted!
