New type effectivness factor?

Ive heard some people saying that the type effectiveness factor (how much the damage is multiplied/divided by) got increased.
Is that true? Because if so, that could really change a lot in how we make teams, both PvP and raids.

It's true.

Super Effective - Old: x1.4, New x1.6
Not Very Effective - Old: x.0714, New x0.625

This article goes into it a lot more:

Yep, it's true. The importance of type effectiveness in PvP has greater emphasis as a result.

In raids, it's opened up the possibility of T4 solos under the right conditions. Shuckle is also (in simulation) no longer an impossible solo, though again it requires specific conditions.

Part of me feels this makes the game too easy; the other part of me feels this makes duos with my kids just the right level of difficulty for them.

I wouldn't be surprised if - eventually - we saw buffs to raid bosses in some form. I'd be curious to know Niantic's game designer's thoughts about T4 raids entering solo territory as a result of the rebalance and damage multiplier changes. They still advise 13(?) people for T4 raids and we've been 2-manning most of them for months now.

Personally I haven’t seen anyone using proper counters much less anything even remotely close to a supreme counter in months .... So I think the recommend number of trainers is still valid for the vast majority of players ... I’m guessing that players that understand counters are doing short man private groups leaving the “I don’t need to know about counters, I Hit LV 40 in 3 months using lucky eggs and gifting, so I know what I’m doing” crowd to fend for themselves

I guess it depends on your active raid scene. I raid with the same group of faces who all are pretty on the ball about what's good and what isn't. I can't remember when I last depended on randos.

Fair enough, I have been stuck playing in Manhattan for the past 3 months you don’t have to be good at raiding there you can catch a full lobby pretty much at any time
