Snorlax Lick/BS for defense?

Hi all. I was thinking about to power up my 82.2% IVs Lick/BS Snorlax as a defender (A/D/S = 7/15/15). I already have one 93.3% ZH/BS maxed out 3027CP. Anyone have experience with this moveset for defense? Zen Headbutt its really better than Lick, but BS is pretty good so im confused...i could use him as a attacker eventually too. Here in my area its pretty rare to catch Snorlaxes with good IVs and moves in the wild, and i had hatched only one ~level 33 trainer. This 82.2% one have 15 defense/stamina (the two most important values for defense?) and 1658CP ~never powered. Thank you.

Lick is awful on defense.... just one lick per 1.5s as a defender. And doesn't pack a punch whatsoever. Attackers will simply spam him. But on offense it's great... three/four licks in the same amount of time.

If you have the candy and the stardust, it is totally worth powering him up.
Ultimately your mon has a great max cp potential.
Your mon will be able to sit high in a gym.

Don't worry about lick vs ZH. When I take down a gym I don't care what the defending mons' movesets are.

lol pretty annoying tbh I don't dodge the licks as much, but they're persistent. BS is a great defensive move imo.. They're so annoying to dodge.

Both my Snorlax came with Lick/BS and as I find them to slow to attack with I use them as defenders. They last as long as any decent defenders. Yes lick doesn't do a lot of damage, but it powers up BS fairly quickly and lick does grind away at an attackers HP.

2nd best defensive moveset after ZH/BS. Good ivs too so for sure power up imo.

Actually this is wrong.

ZH/HB is the second best moveset, and most simulations have shown that ZH/EQ is slightly better than L/BS as a defender.

Lick is terrible on defense.

Simulations are just hypetheotical. You can test yourself. Train a gym with a ZH/BS Snorlax then with a ZH/EQ by a half CP attacker, you will know how hard it is.

Just the presence of a strong snorlax in a gym is a deterrent to many attackers, who don't know the moveset until they've decided to attack (at which point it doesn't really matter, the gym is coming down regardless of moveset). I have 2 defending Snorlax with Lick +BS and Lick+HB, both have stayed put for many weeks!

If you have a Lax with ZH, use your candies on it instead. If this is your only unmaxed Lax, power away. L/BS is more of an attacker, though.

My best snorlax is 82.2% IV too (ZH/BS), and he is my first choice to powerup.
When attacking gyms with Snorlaxes, I don't care Lick or ZH, even HB or EQ, what I care is only BS.
So power him up. He is really worth it.

Wait, you already have a maxed buttslam for D and now you have the perfect moveset for O? Power this guy up for attacking my friend! This is a super fun moveset to work with!
