Why do some have it and others don’t?

Didn’t know this feature before, when was it added?

It came with the update that was forced on me yesterday. Brand new. Not sure in which way this is supposed to be useful - maybe for trading? Another new feature is the ability to sort in reverse order - this I like.

I think it's only on pokemon a year old or older. Sort by recent caught pokemon and the oldest will all have the stamp.

It’s Pokemon that were acquired in a different year. All 2016 and 2017 Pokemon have them. I presume all 2018 mon will get one after 2019 arrives.

Definitely helps with trading for those who are hoarding older PM (like I am) as one does not have to scroll down to see the date when selecting trades. To me the 2016 time stamps look to be the same color as the 2017 stamps so this could be improved with a color coding system.

As part of the last update it's given to Pokemon that are a minimum of one calendar year old. Today is 11/29/2018 (or 29/11/2018 if you're European), so any Pokemon that were caught on 11/29/2017 or older will bear a stamp. Pokemon caught on 11/30/2017 or more recent will not bear the stamp until the calendar rolls over them.

It's a QoL update that lets people see at a glance which Pokemon are old for trading purposes. In addition, the date of the Pokemon's capture is shown in the trade synopsis screen where it lists the CP and HP ranges before pressing confirm.
