For the coming CD weekend, I target to hunt primarily for larvitar and beldum candies. However, I wonder how many steel Metagross or rock tyranitar really needed.
I just got 1 MM Metagross and 2 SD tyranitars at level 30+. But I seldom use them in any recent situation...
If you are from Hong Kong as your username implies, gym offence is probably very important for you and that is where MM Metagross shines. My maxed one gets daily action against Blisseys and Fairy-type defenders.
Extras can also be traded to acquire legendaries or valuable legacies that you missed out on.
You don’t need a single MM/Metagross or SD/Tyranitar to solo T3s, their uniqueness lie in the fact that they are best-in-show at the moment regarding steel and rock. Metagross will survive longer with the coming generations so I’d prioritize that one. If your goal is to solo the hard T3s I suggest that you focus on Groudon and Kyogre.
I evolved 7 shiny metagross (and many non-shiny ones) to trade them with friends. I have 4 metagross with near perfect IV above level 30 or maxed out. Still have 5 shiny left to trade, so no bothering with more this weekend.
Regarding rock Ttar, I couldn't play that day but still managed to evolve two great IV larvitars that I had saved. No need for more, specially with rhyperior and projected rampardos. I would welcome a few shiny to trade and reroll IVs.
This CD is not for me, I may hunt a bit of stardust but I don't need any of the featured pokemon. May take a complete pass on this weekend.
