Repeat of all Community days at once - I called it

Astonished that I was actually right.

I said multiple times that it was possible (admittedly I said low probability) that for the 1 year anniversary of community days they would do a special community day where all of the CD pokemon got another chance.

And they one-upped me with a full CD-weekend of exactly that!

Niantic - you did something right. Well done. Good job. THANK YOU.

As one of the naysayers who never expected Niantic to actually do something like this, I'm impressed. I feel much better about continually holding onto high IV versions of CD eligible Pokemon after they've had their day. This also means I can trade away lower IV versions I had evolved for the sake of getting their moves.

The cynic in me wonders if this is only being done because they don't know what to do for any of the other Gen 3 Pokemon (they skipped all the way down the dex to Beldum, the last family before legendaries) but overall I'm pretty happy with this.

They're still gonna have to decide on something. Gen4 isn't fully out yet so we can't expect a community day mon from there yet. Ralts and Bagon are very exciting choices, but there are some major issues (especially with Ralts) that they have to find a solution for. Trapinch isn't exciting but there has to be some duds here and there. If anything, 2019 is looking to be very interesting.

I'm more excited that people no longer have reason to complain about exclusive mons being hidden behind a paywall... or maybe they will just keep complaining because they missed this CD too.

I'm just amazed with this. The 11 Community days at once. I'm going to be able to get the Surfing Pikachu and Shiny Dratini!!! I'm out of words.

Not saying it's not like that, but he was far from the only one who guessed it. I've lost count how many times I've typed something along the lines of "it would be logical and profitable for Niantic to rerelease past CD moves in some form."

Truthfully, did you expect them to re-release the previous 11 Community Days all at once? I expected them to return in some capacity as well but not like this.

For sure I did not expect this exact form of re-releasing them, even though I've seen some people mention the idea. It's a bold move coming from Niantic.

I got triggered by the title alone, didn't even read the post in all honesty at first. I find humility an important value. There is no need to announce you were right 3 times (!) in the first 3 sentences. Just make the post about the news and you being excited.

I'm happy for the guys who missed out on previous events. I missed out on a couple, so it gives a nice opportunity to redeem on a few.

As noted, I "called it" but I was saying it's low probability. Moreso because it was wishful thinking / I was really mostly only posting it hoping there was the slimmest of chance Niantic would see it and think it's a good idea and do it.

I have no idea if that's the case at all (I'm not delusional enough to think that because I posted it, they must have taken my idea rather than coming up with it on their own / planning it all along) - but regardless I was incredibly happy to see the news (and to finally get all the people complaining about the exclusive window to be relieved - as my understanding is they get the FULL weekend to get ANY of the moves).

I haven't missed a single one of them but I have so many mons I want to evolve with the exclusive move that I'm really happy about this regardless. I also like that some of my friends who are missing candy for some of these species get a new chance to farm.

Not at all... I'm moreso the type of guy who has a few good ideas and gets it right about 1/3 times, and then says "I called it".

Also - feel free to search on this site for my username to see my posts. I don't believe I've ever made a bragging "I called it" post before this. I also haven't really guessed much other than:
- Mewtwo day
- Dialga/Palkia/Groudon/RayQ upcoming raids (which let's be honest, everyone was guessing - no one's going to come on here and say they called that).

they said "your evolved pokemon can get all the featured moves" does this mean I can TM my perfect Metagross??

I'm gonna wait until it gets closer to see what they say. The wording as is is pretty ambiguous.

To ask them now, we could see a repeat of Gengar day when asked if evolved Gastly would learn Lick. The initial answer was no, then that was deleted, then replaced with something to the effect of "We'Ll SeE!" before announcing yes, evolved Gastly would learn Lick.

A similar thing could happen here where it's kept (un?)intentionally ambiguous before announcing TMs will apply here. ESPECIALLY since being able to use TMs for Community Day moves has been in very high demand ever since they started becoming meta relevant.

I wouldn't rule it out just yet - that seems like a generic page with info about CDs in general after the blurb about the upcoming one. We'll have to see!

Thanks. This is the main reason I quit the game. But when I heard there was a chance to TM for exclusive moves I was thinking of a return. But I guess not what a shame...

If Niantic botches this event in the Asia Pacific Region (every single round of CDs that I'm aware of had moderate to severe issues), then I'm going to guess that'll be the issue. Though, to be fair, that's been a very legitimate and likely infuriating issue for everyone playing in that part of the world on CDs.

Mareep, Squirtle, Chikorita, and Cyndaquil being included.

Riolu wasn't included, and he can't find any beldum in the sea of death and despair that is chikorita, cyndaquil, squirtle, and eevee

Not to be a jerk, but why? Just to get a mediocre move that you cannot get with a TM?

When you're very, very low on CTMs, having a guaranteed dragon move instead of risking to roll Hurricane/Hyper Beam multiple times is certainly good enough. I have one outrage Dragonite and 2 DM ones, not once did I feel it wasn't enough.

Get Outrage, I have a DM Dragonite and I never use it...

Making the event last an entire weekend (as opposed to three hours per region) also reduces the risk of server problems.

What a tool

Well, I was also saying hell no about a bagon community day that evolves into outrage. There's suggesting something (amid other suggestions) and being right about one of them, and then there is being willing to bet your $50 to win someone's $10.

They aren't going to give 1000+ bagon candy away and give Salamence outrage---that would virtually clip Rayquaza's non-existent wings.
