Meltan, possible to trade it?

Just got my Meltan. 451CP, cannot find it's accurate IVs. Wonder, def, blown away. No calc gives me accuracy, I am thinking 85%ish. Anybody have the same?
Was thinking about using a shitload of RC to evolve it but want a 90% or better. Is it possible to trade it?

Yes, it can be traded but I understand it counts as a special trade due to its mythical status. So, just one per day.

I finally read ahead and saw players need to do 10 raids to pass one of the later tasks, that is outrageous. I am now expecting some spectacular raids bosses very soon.

Obviously very rare to be able to trade for, second/supporting accounts will have a tough time getting this series of tasks done. They will need a lot of forethought, stacking an Aerodactyl and then finding some of the rarer spawns that are only prevalent due to this event, etc.

I'm glad I read ahead, I may need to stack one or two of the rarer encounters if I can't finish it by the 27th.

FWIW, I think it's any 10 raids, not 10 unique raids, so if Palkia comes out after Giratina, you can hit that 10 times and finish the task.

As a F2P player, that worried me a bit. I only have 3 Premium passes right now, but at least one of the state rewards later on in the quest is 3 Premium passes, so that will take the sting out a little bit, and the fact that I have almost 2000 coins. Shame there isn't a good box to buy right now for passes.

Unfortunately for F2P players, the 3 passes are in the reward for the step _after_ the 10 raids step.

It doesnt say "win" 10 raids, it says "battle" in 10 raids. Huge difference. Go find a lvl 1 raid (only 3 mins to battle), start right at hatch, and enter fight. Then wait and let time run out, NOT killing raid boss. Thats one battle. You can then jump in again for free. Repeat 8-9 times, killing raid boss only at last try.

This was possible at the beginning of Mew quest, but now battling a raid means giving them a raid pass. I knew it wouldn't work, but tested it anyway, lost to an Electabuzz. Then I beat the Electabuzz, gave me credit for one battle (I'm on Meltan stage 3, battle twice). TBH, I only have 350 Electa candy, so not fully a waste. Lucky I have a maxed Raikou and a level 36 Raikou. Plus, two level 35 Zappys.

I've never been a huge fan of using rare candies just for evolutions but with Meltan needing 400 and a special box to get more of them I might use some to speed up the process.

Despite being mythical it can be traded although you can only trade one a day. It can also be transferred. If you're on the fence about dumping RC into it consider this roadmap for obtaining candy, assuming you have access to a Switch and Let's Go:

- Meltan special research gets you 11 Meltan candy (6 catch w/Pinap, 5 as research bonus)
- Mystery Box makes 10 Meltan appear and can be used once a week (60 candies w/Pinap)
- Maximum distance bonus can be obtained seven times in a week (21 candies)
- If trades are Meltan for Meltan, transferring the received Meltan gives another candy (7 candies)
- Meltan is a 20k buddy. I'll assume most people ain't got time for this.

With the above numbers you can get 88 Meltan candies a week after starting with 11. (400 - 11) / 88 = 4.42 => 5 weeks minimum to getting Melmetal without rare candies.

The Meltan box spawns one Meltan every 3 minutes for 30 minutes. Its timing functions like the timing of a lure, not like the timing of an incense which changes based on how fast you are moving.

Barring a few oddities reported on TSR all instances report 10 Meltan regardless of movement.

Don't waste rare candy on Meltan. Melmetal has horrible moves. It is just a useless dex entry.

A dex entry is a dex entry. Some people put high value on those. I will likely have to use RC if I ever want to get it, there's no way I'm visiting a friend who owns Let's Go for 6-7 weeks, it's far easier for me to drop RC every now and then, it tends to accumulate and I don't have many ways to use it.

Whether I do or not is a maybe right now. I'm still working towards my first one and my fiancee is getting Let's Go Eevee so I'll have access to the Mystery Box. I'm also pushing 600 rare candy and have absolutely nothing to spend them on, so.

you only need to give at most 3 rare candy per day to get melmetal in a month and this overlook the possibility of getting candy by feeding a gym defending meltan berries

He's useless in go, but Melmetal looks to be top tier in Let's Go. If you are seriously playing both it can be tempting since you can only get Melmetal in Let's Go by transferring from Go.

you're forgetting one ( based on luck). Get one meltan in a gym and feed berries to him, with luck you can obtain a candy for him.
