waiting for shedninja

todays my break through if i wait till tmr to open it will i be unable to any more field researches?

I may be wrong, but you can still find and complete field research tasks.

You won't be able to collect a stamp today... but you had to collect one anyways to earn the breakthrough. Even if you waited until tomorrow to catch Shedinja, you could still pick up a stamp tomorrow.

It rolls over at 1 pm Pacific time, 4pm EST, so if yo claim the breakthrough after that time tmorrow you will get shedinja I believe, never gotten a day 1 breakthrough before.

An unclaimed breakthrough prevents you from completing research tasks.

well i just hope shedninja will get the stupid wundergaurd
so it will be worth missing out on a few tasks

You can be pretty sure it won't since abilities are not implemented in the game.

Even if it does get some version of wondergaurd, at 153 attack there still isn't much utility.

not needing potions are most of it LOL

i dont mind taking a bit longer to win

Even if it gets wonder guard, it wont be worth much in the game outside of dex entry.

If you have already claimed your last stamp of the week, You'll get Suicune again.

Is Shedinja anything more than a pokedex filler? My wife will complete the weekly tasks tomorrow. Should she grab the Suicune? Or wait until 3:00 to get Shedinja? For reference, her current best Suicune is a 91% Level 15 and she has 40 candies.

It doesn't matter. Suicune has no relevance, it's weaker than Vaporeon, which is far easier to obtain and power up.

Suicune at least has potential after the rebalance if they ever change the game to be less DPS centric or allow legendaries in gyms. Post-rebalance it's 11% tankier than Milotic and 18% tankier than Vaporeon, making it by far the best water-type defender in the game.

I don't care about either but I'll keep doing research tasks for the RC so Suicune it is for me today.

Yes, you will not be able to claim any research rewards until you open the box, which in turn locks in the box reward pokemon.

But I would advice you to open it now. Shedninja is all but guaranteed to be a completely irrelevant dex entry, Suicune on the other hand is a strong pokemon in the main series that could also become useful in POGO if the battle system changes. Post-rebalance it's the 8th tankiest mon in the game, the tankiest water type by a fair margin and tankier than any non-legendary except for the trio of fat normals. None of this tankiness is relevant as long as they don't allow legendaries to defend gyms, but the meta in POGO was not always DPS-centric, it favored TDO for the first 11 months. It's entirely possible we will see an eventual shift back to TDO or new game modes to provide use for both high DPS and high TDO pokemon.

tl;dr Suicune has more potential than Shedninja.
