Is my snorlax a better attacker or defender, and how good at the perfered option would it be attacking or defending?

Better attacker than defender but earthquake isn't great for either.

Snorlax is purely a defender, if you have a 2291 Snorlax, you surely have better pokes to attack with than him. That said, it's the worst moveset. I'd dust and candy him personally just for another gym defender since his CP pretty good.
