Best choice for trade

I have only one old pokemon since Aug-2016. What is the best choice for trade now? Is it still legacy sb mew2? Or wait for new gen 4 legendaries?

My friend is willing to give me some legendaries if I want. so, your concern does not matter.

That's the way it should be. I would happily give a SB Mewtwo to one of my friends in exchange of a pidgey. There's something odd with people looking at this game from a monetary perspective

Good mindset. I did change a SB Mewtwo for a wingull (although it was before i knew it was going to be legacy) to a dear friend. And today changed a Mewtwo to a random guy i met in a raid since he couldn't catch it and it became lucky ^^. If you got more than 6 of any pokemon yo can trade since you can't fit more into a single party, and you also strenghten your friends/local players to help you raid too!

I'd say go for SB mewtwo, SC gengar or Rayquaza,

the gen 4 legendaries are limited from the ones we likely will be getting soon with the best beign dialga and its double steel set which is actually very strong. Palkia's got the third best dragon DPS, slightly behind salamence.

Right now, SB mew2 yes.
Ive traded 2 or 3 already to friends for garbage from 2016, and they powered it up as soon as they get it. It will still come in handy for Deoxys raids, so you can duo it with your friend.

The upcoming stat rebalancing should make Rayquaza much stronger relative to a lot of other legendaries, and Rayquaza will be effective against the dragons Giratina and Palkia. SC Gengar is hard to get, but doesn't have a lot of bulk. SB Mewtwo is also strong, and as far as we know now unobtainable aside from trades. But I'd lean towards Rayquaza unless you already have a strong, powered up Dragon team.

You're absolutely right about Rayquaza. But for the same reason, Gengar is also stronger! In fact, it's one of the pokémon that benefits the most of this rebalance, just like all glass cannons.

I would recommend Rayquaza as it's the top counter to 2 gen 4 legendaries and seems like a very strong choice going forward (gen 5 has 3 strong dragon legendaries weak to dragon).

SB Mewtwo would be my second choice, but it seems to be less useful going forward than Rayquaza. It counters more legendaries in gen 4 than Ray does, but the Lake trio aren't particularly relevant and sadly neither is Giratina with its currently known moveset.
