Fun questions

1 If you transfer all mons but one and then try to attack a gym, does it allow you to attack with one mons?
2. You see a rare wild mons, for example, snorlax, you open the game in another phone, can you catch the snorlax twice?
3. You take over a gym, put in your mons and then prestige the gym to level 10 with your mons only. People add 9 more mons to the gym, can the gym go to 60,000 XP ?
4. Power up your fainted mons may save you revive. At what level this trick doesn't work?
5. For two dragonite with same move set, same CP, which one is better for offense, higher iv one or lower iv one?
6. Two snorlax with same move set and same cp, which one is more difficult to beat when they are defensing ? High iv one or low iv one? What would be the best iv for defense if CP is the same?

  1. No clue.
  2. It will probably give you an error on the other one, if it actually worked I think this would be all over the place by now.
  3. It used to work like that, I think I have a screenshot on my phone. However, it's no longer possible to go above 52,000 (IIRC?)
  4. It depends on the Pokémon. It will more likely work with Pokémon with high base HP because they gain HP more frequently from level ups.
  5. I've heard this should be roughly equal, but I just did the math on Qmike's sheet and it shows that lower level, higher IV can do about ~5% more damage even with lower CP (level 30, CP 2878 IV 50% vs level 28, CP 2865, IV 100%). Unless I missed something, I think I need to recheck that with other Pokémon as well.
  6. Same as above.

In reference to number 3...There is a gym in my neighborhood that is lvl 10 and 56000 prestige

Could it be an older gym? I'm sure they did something about the amount of max prestige.. I just don't exactly remember what.

It's possible to go above 60000 but if you kill 1 pokemon or you train it goes down directly to 50000 si it's useless

Fun answers! ;)

  1. Why would you transfer all your Lvl. 30+ Mons? Why would you attack with a Lvl. 5 Trainer?
  2. Impossible, because I have never seen a Snorlax in the wild!
  3. Impossible, because you have only one Pokemon, which you put in the Gym!
  4. It always works in sense of wasting dust!
  5. I thought you had caught two Snorlax?!
  6. Ah, now you're back to reality! But still impossible to have caught a Snorlax in the wild!

Even when you used to be able to get a Gym to 60k prestige, whenever the first pokemon dies the Gym was reset to 50k. Same is true today, there's really no such thing as a 52k gym, 51k is the effective real max

Please note if 2 pokemon have different ivs, for example 16/45 and 23/45, they cant have the same cp (unless the pokemon is really weak to begin with)

With the right IV distributions, a lower level pokemon with higher IVs could match the CP of a higher level pokemon with lower IVs. In that case, it would depend on the calculated stats as to which is better at their current levels, but the one with higher IVs would still have a greater power up potential.
