Ex Raid cancelled over a week in advance. Any idea why?
It turns out today i received an Ex Raid pass for October 22nd. I was so happy because i also have one for tomorrow (October 15th) but this afternoon the raid for the 22nd was cancelled...OVER A WEEK IN ADVANCE. Many in my local Pokgo community had cancellations with the Deoxys first wave but hours before the raid (when thay had already taken time off work or whatever) or when they received the pass there was an ongoing raid at the same gym so the game bugged and told them the EX Raid was ongoing so they rushed like maniacs just to find a Lickitung or something else there. Anyway nasty stuff, so i guess it is better to have the raid cancelled earlier but that brings the question what is the real problem. We assumed the issue was a raid was taking place or would took place the same day at the Ex Gym and that blocked the Ex...but it seems Niantic knows way in advance there will be problems and they aren't still fixed. Does anyone here know the reasons or how the Ex Raid systems work at gyms? Did this ever happen with Mewtwo? I would love to know more since i'm more curious than angry at this point.
Also the "we are sorry" rewards seem.a little underwhelming, the 2 passes are fine although we miss the opportunity to catch an unique pokemon but the 1000 stardust just seems too stingy

Does anyone sponsor pokemon go anymore? I guess the release of gen 4 and the switch games is bringing some hype. I guess some countries have lots of player and therefore sponsors can get a benefit, but where i live pokgo has become so niche and obscure, nothing even close to the craze of 2016, most Ex gyms are just statues in parks
Regardless of like/dislike about the EX system, at least it worked when Mewtwo was the boss. Beyond the clock-block, if you got an invite it was pretty much guaranteed you could attend the raid. The only instances I recall of raids being cancelled previously were if the gym in question was removed or raids scheduled for Christmas Day at closed locations like malls.
Something they did behind the scenes broke the EX system. Every single wave since the month-ish hiatus has had some dumb bullshit like this happen. Since it appears the system is here to stay the least they could do is make sure it works properly. As for the compensation, it's better than nothing I guess. The dust feels cheap but I'd take free raid passes any day.
To my knowledge clockblock was the only issue that prevented invites from being sent out and was never formally acknowledged by Niantic to begin with. With invites being sent out for raids that supposedly start < 20minutes after the invite seems to imply an acknowledgement of this issue and that they horribly bungled something in attempting to resolve it.
I've never had an EX raid cancelled on me before, even with having received a pass for every one of Deoxys's waves. People are already pretty mad just because they want to catch the damn thing but I agree the outcry would be much worse if it was remotely viable.
