Always liked him from the original games, but his moves are sort of lackluster in this game. Has anyone powered him up or used him in any situation besides prestiging against Snorlax,and wouldn't mind sharing their experience with him.

I like him very much as well. The moment I have some spare stardust, I'll start powering him up.
I did. I wish I hadn't.
He's a iv93 one with KC+CC, whom I hatched as a Machop and evolved, and then powered to lv30.
But I only used him to fight for 3-4 times. My 75000 SD should have been spent somewhere else.
If you think that CC is the best Charge Move and maybe it could save Machamp, don't. Though CC has the highest DPS, it also has the highest EPS - for charge move, this means that you'll use the quick move more often. So it actually makes Machamp's situation worse; your Circle DPS will be closer to KC's DPS.
In only three ways can Machamp be saved:
1. Replace KC or Bullet Punch with Rock Smash in his quick move pool;
2. Rebalance the parameters of KC;
3. Give him a base ATK over 280.
If things stay as they are now, then even when fighting a Tyranitar, who has a double weakness to Fighting, Machamp would be ~30% worse Vaporeon in terms of DPS.
Hey i have a 2279 CP KC/CC Machamp which i powerd up a while back as i wanted it to be my snorlax counter with it being fighting vs normal typing- but i gotta say that i was quite let down when i finally got there. Even with the very effective typing match up Machamp doesn't perform too well and if a snorlax has a psychic move like ZH it's even worse~
That being said i don't really use it in my A-Team and as others said i'm hoping for some rebalancing in the futur as the mon itself is pretty cool! The only times i use it now is for low level snorlaxes or chanseys eventho Ryhdon generally does a better job at those
