Keep powering up past level 30???
If so, what's your criteria for deciding who keeps getting the juice?
CP increase per power-up is only half as much past level 30, right?

I have the following 7 Pokemon at level 30.5 and I plan to level some further upon reaching level 30.
- Dragonite (3088 CP, SW/DC )
- Snorlax (2844 CP, L/HB)
- Rhydon (2809 CP, MS/SE)
- Vaporeon (2721 CP, WG/WP)
- Vaporeon (2700 CP, WG/HP)
- Exeggutor (2474 CP, ZH/Psy)
- Arcanine (2428 CP, FF/FB)
The first three I definitely plan to keep leveling. Probably the Vaporeons as well. The Exeggutor and Arcanine probably not, but depending on how much stardust you have it might be worth it (I have about 100k). But, it's just a game I would recommend just allocating your stardust however you want to. Also, it might be nice to have some saved up when strong gen 2 mons start rolling out.
It is worth considering that any given mons "damage dealt before fainting" actually scales with ATKSTADEF rather than ATK(STA^.5)(DEF^.5) which is what CP scales with.
So my Dragonite with 3088 CP will go up to 3113 after another power up. This is a .81% increase in CP but a 1.23% increase in ATKSTADEF. If i power him up all the way to level 40 he will get to 3573 CP. A 15.71% increase in CP and a 24.46% increase in ATKSTADEF. Long story short power ups are about 50% more impactful than the respective CP increases give them credit for.
Potentially Disagree.
Rhydon has 1 purpose in Defending. Throw it between 2 Gyrados in Gym.
No pokemon is hard to beat really in a gym, all you can realistically do is break up Defenders so that a Jolteon can't take his full charge bar thunder from 1st mon, into 2nd mon.
Rhydon is perfect for breaking up strings of Gyrados.
So if your regions Gyrados are all high, you will want to power up Rhydon to be in thier range.
Most trainers do not understand this and I always laugh when I see a gym filled with dragonites all lined up. 1 of my lapris can take out 2 dragonites without the need for me to dodge the quick attacks. If I do decide to dodge the quick attacks I have enough health and a full charge bar to hit the third defender at the start of the battle with blizzard while tanking their first 2 quick attacks.
It's also personally satisfying when I use a 1800CP FB/IP Jinx to mop the floor against 3000CP dragonites.
My criteria is high cp. At level 30, Snorlax, vaporeon and dragonite etc. Are at 3000. Those are who i keep powering up due to high placement in gyms. Other likes tentacruel, blastoise are just a waste due to their low cp. They could be at level 40 and still be below in gyms due to high cp pokemons listen above.
You will do it eventually for sure, I was not going to get my mons past level 30 but when I got to 34 I had so much dust already saved that I could power up all of them to my pair level and still had 200k of dust saved, and now I need more than a million of xp to the next level so will get more...
I am powering up 2 Dragonite, 1 Snorlax, 2 Vapes, 1 Exeg, 1 Arcanine, 1 Gyarados and 1 Blastoise (Gyarados and Blastoise are both 100%IV with best moveset).
So my advice is save dust now if you want, but eventually the milions of xp you need to the next level will make you spend it anyway, I think that after level 33+ you can keep up at least 6-8 mons and still save a lot of dust in case gen2 drops.
