Not Thunderbolt or flamethrower for sure. If shadow ball was still available, that's what I would recommend. I think the best moves you could choose would be focus blast, psychic, or another ice beam. Machamp is gone as a raid boss (for now), and even if he was still here, that's the only use for a psychic Mewtwo. Focus blast is good and all, however, machamps will do for gym attacking. So I would go with another ice beam Mewtwo. Sorry about the timing you got it though since you can't get shadow ball.

Best Mewtwo Moveset (again)
So I managed to get my first 2.275 CP Mewtwo few days ago, now I don't know what moveset will be the most useful.
Considered I already have a lvl40 96% and a lvl31.5 91% with Shadow Ball, a 98% (IceB) and a 96% (TBolt), and considered I don't even need Psychic Mewtwo to solo Machamp raids I would consider mixing solid neutral DPS with gym clearing, and go for the Confusion + Focus Blast set
other suggestions?

Disagree. Perhaps the only use right now or recently. But Psychic Mewtwo is the undisputed best psychic pokemon, bar none. Sure, Psychic is kind of a weak attack, but it's still much stronger than Espeon with C/FS or Alakazam with C/FS. Heck, Mewtwo with Confusion is pretty damn solid as is.
Someday, there may be multiple uses for a strong Psychic pokemon, and Mewtwo is the top of the class. On that day, everyone will want one. So I wouldn't throw Psychic Mewtwo out with the bathwater.
Of course, there's also the possibility that we'll get Psystrike on Mewtwo at some point, which would make Psychic really obsolete. The question is whether we'll need a Psychic Mewtwo to get it, or will we need to get a new Mewtwo. Dunno.
Niantic has shown that they’re all-in on this ill advised exclusive move during a small time window idea. So I’m confident they will release a limited time only non-TMable (hopefully improved) Psystrike Mewtwo. And if they do that, double psychic Mewtwo will outclass itself. For that reason, I refuse to put resources into one with Psychic.
"Someday, there may be multiple uses for a strong Psychic pokemon, and Mewtwo is the top of the class" That's just not true, its use is only fighting types and poison types of which theres few relevant fighting types (not currently in raids) and next to no relevant poison types (also not currently in raids, ie psychic mewtwo has no relevance at raids and theres no gym defenders of those types that warrant a legendary specialist). Being the best attacker of a type is meaningless unless that types relevant, just ask Groudon, Raikou, flying Rayquaza/sky attack moltres, nonlegendaries metagross, gardevoir, all best attackers of their type, but not relevent
The closest will be gen V, and at that, mewtwo's already outclassed against the swords of justice in 2 out of 3 senarios, a level 24 double flying ray bests a level 40 mewtwo (thats also not factoring in possible dragon ascent), and cobalion's not weak to psychic because its part steel. Terrakion's the only one mewtwo *may* be supreme against, but if we get OP kyogre, PB Groudon, cobalion and virizion themselves are good against it with both their STAB and might be good enough to hold up, possibly Keldeo as well who likely will be a research encoutner, Jirachi and its stupidly powerful doom desire, theres a lot of pokemon that could potentially beat mewtwo against the one sword of justice it has the edge at now.

The only hope for mewtwo would be psystrike, but even that wont be possible on these current mewtwo, so at present, these mewtwo arent good for anything other than candy unless they make psystrike available to all. Personally, i'm not wasting candy on these mewtwo, they arent worth it.
Theres not much for mewtwo any more really, if you arent going for machamp solo's that just leaves focus blast, and machamp does that a lot better.
Ice beam would be ok if we weren't getting gen IV soon and next was rayquaza, but as that isnt the case....i'd save your stardust, mewtwo really isnt that relevant anymore with its current movesets. Save your candy for Psystrike raid day in the future
