Rhyperior's moves speculation
So, yesterday we were discussing with some friends about what moves will have gen IV Pokémon, mainly the ones that evolves from gen I ones. And it came to my mind what moves are they going to give them to Rhyperior, because that clearly will define his usage on the meta itself. The way we do this is taking in consideration the moves that the Pokémon can learn through the generations in the main series games:
Quick moves:
Mud-Slap (Gen IV move tutor): Please no! Mud-Slap is an awful slow move, that will make Rhyperior so slow on attacking but it could make sense and reflect how slow he is on the games.
Smack Down (TM from Gen V and on): Smack down will be an excellent adition to Rhyperior! It would make direct competition with Tyranitar, and it will be outclass Golem completely.
Stomping Tantrum (Gen VII tutor move): Although it's not in the game yet, I think Stomping Tantrum would be in a middle-earth between Mud-Slap and Mud shot. It won't make Rhyperior excellent, but passable somehow.
Magnitude (Egg move): It's not in the game either and it doesn't look like a quick move, but other than that, Rhyperior doesn't learn other ground-type moves that aren't in the game as charge moves.
Charge moves:
Earthquake (TM since 4ver lol): Great adition to Rhyperior, it will make it a strictly improved Rhydon.
Drill Run (Level-up move): Now this is what are we aiming for! A ground-type move with 80 power and 2 bars! Only learned by things like Fearow or dunsparce. In my opinion, this would be it's best ground-type charged move period.
Rock Wrecker (Rhyperior's signature move): Depending how they'll implement this move will define it's usefulness. If it's like the starters elemental Hyper Beam (2 bars), alongside Smack Down, Rhyperior would be THE best Rock-type in the game. If it works like Hyper beam (Hope it's not) Rhyperior still will be good but not the best.
Stone Edge (TM): It will be good, and at the same spot with Tyranitar.
Rock Slide (TM): Interesting option, just as good as Stone Edge, but there's better options out there.
So, what do you guys think? What moves you think they'll going to give to Rhyperior? I'm reading your answers!

Mud-Slap is the better ground fast move right now for attackers with an awful charge move, like Earthquake. It has higher DPS but lower EPS. I'd much rather have Slap/EQ than Shot/EQ.
Rock Wrecker would be nice but like people have been saying, might get saved for a CD.
Rock Slide is not "as good as Stone Edge", it's significantly better. In fact it's the best rock charge move in the game currently.
I think there's a decent chance Rhyperior doesn't get both a double rock and a double ground moveset, just looking at many past examples. Regardless, if it gets either one and with pretty much any available moves, it'll be a good pokemon since the stats are monstrous.
I want to see:
Mud-Slap, Rock Smash
Drill Run, Stone Edge, Hammer Arm
Hammer Arm as a new fighting charge move with stats similar to Dazzling Gleam: two-bars, longer time and a little more damage per use than Dynamic Punch.
That would let Rhyperior be a strong ground attacker or a fighting attacker that resists normal and is not weak to psychic or fairy.
Give Rock Throw/Rock Slide to Golem and Smack Down/Rock Slide to other rock-types like Kabutops, Aerodactyl, and Armaldo.
I tested in DPS/TDO out of curiosity. Rhyperior with RS/fighting-type DG would have almost as much TDO against ZH/DG Blissey than Lugia/Ho-Oh but much better DPS, around the level of C/CC Ursaring. At this level it would definitely have a niche as a tanky Blissey counter, even if the DPS is a whopping 33% behind Machamp.
