PSA: 6 players with 30+ can easily beat mewtwo

Shame on the three of six that bailed on us. The other 3 didn't notice for a while, 1/4 of the way in, the three of us had done more than 1/5 of its health. Would have been an easy raid instead of a wasted pass.

Even with 5 people we beat it with 40-50 seconds left. Relobbying was involved and there were definite auto-select picks on the field.

I had a guy in our group leave because there was only me and him at lvl 39 and 40. We had 9 accounts but 3 of them were 25s. He bailed saying he didn’t think we can do it so the 8 of us with some poor counters beat him with 60 seconds left. Some people are just dry elitist but I find it ironic the people who are so meta bail and don’t trust being able to beat a raid boss. Like a good lvl 40 player I’m pretty sure can do like 25-30% of Mewtwos health by themselves. If people can trio then 5-6 should be safe if there are solid counters across the board but even questionable lineups should be fine for 8

nonononono that is so wrong.

A trio against mewtwo (in its current form) is only possible with 1 mewtwo moveset and requiring all 3 players having majority maxed shadow claw gengar.

A good level 40 player can count on doing 25% damage, but definitely not over 30%, especially if you are reduced to 'only' using Ttar.

Where was I wrong? I know trio is basically possible in the smallest of instances. My point was that a lvl 40 shouldn’t be too scared to to Mewtwo with 9 people, especially if at least half of the people have solid counters. That’s also why I said 25-30% nothing over that unless you’re using weather boost with perfect legacy Gengars really. 5 people all using Ttar could best Mewtwo pretty safely unless it was focus blast. 8 with subpar could work, as long as everybody isn’t using Aggron and Lugia it should be fine with 9-10+

I agree, you're not wrong. You said 30% as the upper limit for a good level 40 player.

A perfect player can do 33.4%. A good max level player doing 30% at the upper end isn't unreasonable.

Of course, that player would need best friends (or at least ultra) in the raid. If a trio is only barely possible at best friends, then perhaps doing 30% without friendship boosts is impossible (which is the sole comment he was referring to).

I’ve never had anyone bail after using the pass but there’s been quite a few times where people would be skeptical and almost back out or not show up when we have 6-8 people. I’ve done it with 5 and I know plenty who’ve done it with 4, I never understand why people think you need a full 20 people to do a raid.

Then again I saw a group fail with 15. But that’s what you get when you have people using Aggron and Lugia.

15 and fail? There’s more than just using Aggron and Lugia to it, they must have been L15 maximum and not using charge moves. Auto-picks are common in my community due to people raiding for others with their extra phones, but that never gave us trouble with 6+ trainers.

I've done all of the move sets, except focus blast, with four. How easy it is depends on the other three that I do it with. My impression is doing it with three would be really difficult. Five is pretty safe, if three of them are level 35+, know what they are doing, and have good counters that are powered up. After seven or eight, I don't bother scoping out who I am playing with.
