2best snorlax defensive moveset
I think we all agree that ZH/BS is Snorlax best defensive moveset.
What is your 2nd favorite one?

Easily Zen Headbutt / Hyper Beam, no question about that. To be honest, I don't know why people give so much credit for Body Slam... For a decent player who can dodge everything if they want to, Hyper Beam will always end up doing more damage than Body Slam.
Also, people forget a few key things:
When most players are getting ready to dodge Hyper Beam, they will stop doing damage, during that time they will lose A LOT of damage and energy. Also it is possible to miss a dodge on Hyper Beam (sometimes even more so when you have too much time to prepare), maybe your phone just doesn't register every swipe in which case Hyper Beam is not nearly as forgiving as Body Slam. Also maybe it's rainy outside and getting dodges registered by your phone gets even trickier.
I have both Snorlaxes and my Hyper Beam one has 6 battles won, Body Slam has 1 and I think I've used both pretty equally. (For whatever that's worth)
I just want to put it out there that it's not as simple as "easy dodge vs difficult dodge, no brainer". I would go as far as saying that they're both pretty much equally strong.
Battles Won is not a good measure of how good a defensive mon is, maybe they just get to your snorlax because it has high cp and leave, it will count as a battle won, or they gym has for example 7 levels and people do the 2-3 first leave and start again, it will also count as a battle won on the mon they stop, and it will count too if they are prestiging the gym and leave at your Snorlax.
I will say they are both as good, I agree with you that a miss dodge on an Hyper Beam is almost a killer, but don't forget that you have 90 secs to kill a mon and a lot of people only dodge charge attacks to kill them faster in the case of Snorlax because it has a lot of HP, if you see that body slam is not hitting a lot you just keep attacking, while you have sooo much time to prepare for hyper beam that I don't think any people does not try to dodge it, this could end on getting hit 2-3 times in a row with body slam and also losing the battle...
Hyper beam wont end up always doing more dmg.
It can be used only every 100 energy and has extremely big animation time, which never is good for defender.
BS can be used every 50 energy.
3x BS = 150dmg
1 hyper beam = 150dmg
So match length and energy gain determinates who does more dmg, not the move dmg alone.
Also BS snorlax has alrdy used body slam 4x where your mon is just casting 2nd hyper beam and have big chance to getting killed during the animation time so your 2nd hyper beam might never even hit the enemy.
This scenario happens even more often when its high level player vs low level.
Also hyper beam will waste more dmg vs low healt mons, where BS steadily kills them without wasting much dmg.
You still continue attacking a HB Snorlax till the last milisecond until he fires? No you don't. And the moment he winds up for HB you dodge. Probably squeeze a few more quick attacks but you don't risk it and you dodge. And if you don't, then you lose the trade. Plus getting hit by BS isn't really punishing. Try eating a fully charged HB. It all boils down to this... A dodged HB deals more damage than a BS.
I'm with Zureiyaa. Any regular player can dodge any move. HB dishes more damage than ZH when both are dodged. What I like about HB is that the attacker has to either have the balls to keep attacking during the HB windup, or basically pause the attack in anticipation of the dodge. And of course, we all miss a dodge from time to time, and it's devastating to miss a dodge against HB.
Both great mons.
I got balls and live on the edge! Haha. I always get in quick hits during windup of HB. It's not hard. I built myself an internal clock in my head on when the HB is going to be unleashed. For example I know I can safely get 5 dragon breaths during wind up. Maybe 6 if I get the first one in early. I know it's playing with fire but my goal when attacking is to get in as much hits as possible and dodge everything. I wish there were stats available on some type of efficiency rating as a trainer.
"We can all agree..."
Count me out. ZH/HB deals more damage than BS even when you successfully dodged HB. ZH/BS is the 2nd best defensive moveset. I have 2 identical 91% IV Snorlaxes. (HB/BS) and I tried prestiging 2 gyms with them as my enemy. I used a single Dragonite and I only dodged charge moves. HB wins hands down. BS is overated IMO. Don't get me wrong. It's an awesome move but HB claims the top spot.
Hyper beam can only be used by 100 energy, where BS every 50 energy.
So combat length and energy gain are also factors to take account.
BS will also hit you 4 times where you are just casting 2nd hyper beam and have chance to be killed during the animation time.
Also hyper beam will waste lot of its dmg vs low healt mons.
Anyways, we accept your request to be counted out.
You welcome.
And if you dont believe me that your pokemons get killed during the animation times, i have videos to show you when i attack gyms.
Hyper beam snorlax, bam, dead before 2nd hyper beam ever hit me.
And not only with snorlaxes, but everything tha uses hyper beam, bam dead.
And i gladly face all your hyper beam pokemons in the gym, rather than any body slam snorlaxes.

In above video (2:30sec) i destroy dragonite who doesnt get to use hyper beam, not even once.
And this is not only time.
And in same video 3:17min the last snorlax uses body slam 4x and immediatly gets killed.
It doesnt have time to make 2 hyper beams.
In this video 1st dragonite killed during dragon pulse animation time. (it gives my healt back in next pokemon)

in this video snorlax killed before 2nd hyper beam hits me. (body slam would have alrdy hit me 4 times)

And trust me, when i say: I kill them every time.
I can make you videos every day so you finally realize how shitty moves with big animation time rlly is.
Did you even watch last battle in the first video?
2835 vaps vs 2757 snorlax.
Snorlax uses body slam 4x and immediatly killed.
That snorlax wouldnt be able to use 2nd hyper beam, ever.
They just dont have 10sec time to make 2 hyper beams, where they only need 6,24sec to make 4 body slams.
So just ignore 2835 vs 2757 snorlax fight and only watch fight that you think isnt fair.
and btw, there isnt fair fights in this game
It rlly seems i need to make compilation video of how shitty moves big animation time charges are.
Hyper beam way overrated so the 2nd best after Z/BS probably L/BS or ZH/EQ. I love it when attacking a Dragonite or Snorlax with HB because I know that at most they will only let off 1 HB before taken down and as such a simple move to dodge it's really not a problem. Body slam will hit you off guard very often though.
