Gen 1 only. Banned?

Hi guys!Did not play for a couple of months. Monday started to play and from that time I am seeing only gen 1 pokemon (catching and on the radar). So, is it some kind of event or am I banned? Or is it just game like this now? Or... is it 2016?))))
And also I moved to another country, can this be related?

It's the Kanto event. Lasts until Sep the 30th. You should find a notification in your in-game news section about it.
