Mountain top Gym defenders

Did you get numbers for that articuno raid??

Depends on where it be. There is a report of a gym in the mountains where some pokemon defended for more than a year.

I was recently in the Adirondacks but couldn’t get signal to take gyms, but I could see them from a lodge that had WiFi. I imagine they’ll stay for quite some time.

Spoofers will be spoofers. I conquered a near impossible gym (legitemally) in the middle of the Nile river (Egypt). I was on a boat trip and had to specifically ask the boat driver to stop near the place of the gym.

Imagine this, a gym in the middle of the water with absolutely zero possibility to reach by any other vehicle than boat. I can't imagine somebody else would do this. Believe it or not, within 24 hours the gym was filled with 6 Pokemon and within another 24 hours it was defeated. I call bs

Every time I left pokemon in some remote gym in the middle of a natural park they didn't last longer than 5 days. My longest time was actually in a city I visited, where my Blissey stayed 3 weeks and earned the city's name. It's impressive how much turnover there's in PoGo. Too many times due to spoofer s unfortunately...

Check the other gyms.

Well a good rule of thumb is look at how long the other defenders were there....

If you are adding to a gym where the defenders are 20+ days, odds are it isn't falling
If you are taking a gym where the defenders are 20+ days... it will either fall semi-quickly because those players are in the area or spoofers or it will be a while before another tourist comes through

why didn't you leave a pidgey?

I had a pidgey stay for 3 weeks in a remote gym. I would have hated for that to be a Blissey.
