Why can't pokestops and gyms drop more revive and potions?
I have 64 fainted Pokemons now and reviving them is an impossible task when I hardly ever get any of the items needed. I have a task to do 10 raids but my good pokemon are all fainted, even my not so good ones . And don't tell me to power up. I have tried and as of yesterday I had 6oo stardust. So no can do. I don't need 100 pineapples, give me some revives and potions!! I worked hard to lwvwl up but it only gave me enough to rescue 10 pokemons.

Gifts, raids, gyms (especially gold ones). Those are the best ways to get revives.
In the meantime, use wild caught high cp Pokemon for gyms and/or raids. Whatever is common that you have candy to evolve if necessary is great. Catch a high cp Eevee with any IVs, evolve it, battle with it, and transfer it. Even Pidgeot and Raticate can be serviceable in a pinch.
One other thing is to try to dodge in gym battles and solo raids. This can save a lot of health.
I agree, usually people ask what level I am but I feel like out of the 300 people on my line group, only like 4-6 people really understand the movesets and what to use. I’ve actually asked many if they have battle parties and most just use the recommended. I did manage to 5 man Regirock two times in a row because I had a small group that listened when I suggested all Machamps in cloudy weather. I’ve failed lvl 4’s with 4+ people because of Aggron or lack of SE damage
Wow this is on the opposite side of me. I understand different trainer has different play style therefore different need. I'm on the catching side and basically just do free raids and battle gym to earn coins. Potions and revives are the least thing I want so most of time I just dump them, but always run out of berries and poke balls lol.
It's all "R"NG, man. ("Random" Number Generator; aka Luck) In the past two weeks I've gotten more than 100 Revives and Purple Potions. I even had one spin on a Gold Gym that gave me 5?!?!? Revives and 2 Max Revives, with nothing else.
I'm not saying that to brag because I don't need those - I've saved up more than 350 Max Revives, and I keep 6 Max Potions on hand for healing Pokémon from Raids that don't faint. They're aggravating to me because I have to delete them so I can still spin Pokestops to get Research Quests. I'd LOVE to have the problem with getting too many Pinaps - I had 100+, got rid of 80 during the first day of the Stardust event, and haven't gotten more than 10 Pinap's out of any other source since then. (Which sucks because I'm on that part of the Celebi quest where I have to use Pinaps to finish the Research) And I'm down to 20 Great Balls, when I try to keep the numbers up around 100 for each of the types of balls.
It's all "R"NG, man. Today you're not getting any Revives or Potions. Next week you might not get any Balls. You might go a month without getting any TM's or RC's from Raids. Right now you might do raids and ONLY get TM's and Rare Candies - I've had that before where I got 15 RC's in a single raid, and one where I got 2 FTM's AND 2 CTM's from a single raid. For a while before Trading I was doing 1-2 raids a day just to try and get Revives because they weren't dropping anywhere else for me. It's all "R"NG.
That's how the "R"NG works for PoGo - you'll probably get some sympathy from people here as we've all been through it, but being a jerk and going on the offensive right away ("Don't tell me to power up!") isn't going to do you any good. All it's going to do is give you a reputation here as being a jerk looking for a fight. Yeah, Powering up a Pokémon isn't a great way to do it, but it's a way that is under your control - you can't control what you get from a Spin, but you can control how much Stardust you have, and how many candies you have. It's a terrible way to revive Pokémon and not one I would ever recommend (unless it's a Pokémon you are planning on Powering Up anyway), but it's an option that is entirely at your control in a way that few other things in this game are.
I realize people say that it’s all RNG, but I think there are added variables that Niantic implements but are not taken into account by those that sample the drops.
IMO you get less of what you need. If you are lacking in potions and revives you will get other items. I always keep an inventory of all items and I continually get even drops. When I run out of anything I will get less of those. I think this prompts you to buy items
Sounds a little tin-foil hatty to me. All items have a fixed drop rate percentage (whatever that number may be), it's up to RNG to select it or something else. People only notice getting less of something when it's something they actively need. I couldn't tell you the last time I actually spun an Up-Grade, 7 day streak or otherwise. I only noticed it when I went to toss evo items after getting Celebi and saw I had significantly less of them compared to the rest.
Gym battles: use better tdo options, run before your Pokemon faint and heal them to reenter (there's no bonus for clearing the full gym...). I generally avoid dying at all when taking gyms, only potions needed.
Raids: either you get very lucky, or else these should restock you easily. Get way too many potions and revives from raids. If you do a short man raid you'll have a net loss I guess, but if you 20 man at hatch you often get 1-2 KO'd Pokemon and get 3 or 6 each of revives and hyper potions... I also find that doing level 4 raids with groups of 5 people on your team allow maximum reward bundles while also having very few Pokemon faint out.
Friends: I get so many max revives from gifts I'm always throwing out all the revives and most potions I get... If you don't have a local discord to add friends, get randoms here. I have around 40 friends which allows me to open gifts from about half of them (and ideally send to the rest).
Spinning: gyms are more likely to get potions and revives than regular pokestops. Make sure you spin them!
May I suggest relying more on using more of whatever random mons are common near you? Pidgeots, Furrets, Raticates, Noctowls, Quagsires, Victreebels, Ninetails or whatever else.
Yeah they aren't the best of the best, but you don't need much to run through a Gym full of demotivated pokemon. You also don't need a whole lot to solo rank 1 or 2 raids.
