Concluding the 3X Stardust + Moltres day event

With < one hour left for the event to end, I'd like to throw a summary of it.

Gained tons of Stardust as that's the theme of this event. No exact counts but I managed to max a second SD Ttar and bring 3 Golem to level 39/39.5 to reach the final Moltres breakpoint. Besides a few other power-ups, I still have about 200K more dust than when it first started.

Cracked a few 10k eggs and a bunch of 7k eggs. Got 2 Dratini, 2 Beldum (no good though), a few Trapinch (trashes), a Porygon (this is weird for 10k) from 10k's and 2 A-vulpix, 3 A-geodudes (all bad I have complained in my previous posts) and some A-Digletts and A-Meowth.

Aquired a few lucky pokemons from trading. A level 29|30 perfect lucky Charmander and a level 20 ADS 131415 lucky Shroomish are the highlights (Shroomish evolved into a Sludge Bomb Breloom is the pain). Also happy to see my wife got a level 30 151512 lucky Bagon and a 141515 lucky Slakoth.

Caught 3/6 Moltres with one shiny iv 87 and one iv 98 all level 25. Among 6 raid we did, the first 2 are duoed by my wife and I, which is a big, big accomplishment for us. Although the dusts paid for the Ttar and Golem are kind of waste as there'll be not much use of them in the near future, still it makes us very proud.

Using the CTM obtained from the Moltres raids I got my only Mewtwo into Shadow Ball on its second try.

To end up with, at the last day of this event, second time got into a Foggy weather in Los Angeles and managed to catch our first snowy Castform.

Umm, not so much. SD TTar and Golem are some of the best counters for the Legendary Birds, who will be around for a week starting Thursday or Friday (depending on where you live).

You are right. Didn't think of that. Are the birds still gone be Tier 4? That way we could still duo them.

Who cares? Since friend future you have more than enough of them anyway.

T4 and T5 are exactly the same
7500 / 180s = 41.67dps/s
12500 / 300s = 41.67dps/s

of course you have to revive but that doesnt really make a difference

That depends on the quality of your phone. Farting around in the mid-battle lobby for too long can cost too much time.

Plus when get V comes around (in a long time) they'll be great against some of those legendaries, as well as a number of possible raids or defenders from now until then

Nice. Seems like you had a good event.

Personally I am fairly happy with the event. Tried to keep busy, but didn't perhaps grind as much as I had hoped. And didn't get to play anything on the last day due to having a cold :(

Still managed to get about 860k stardust, which was about 200k over what I had hoped for.
Hatched 17 10km eggs, but got nothing good. Well, I did get a 93% Larvitar, but with 12/15/15. I don't know why but 99% of all the Larvitar I've hatched has had 12 or less in attack. Usually it's 15 in HP. Really annoying.

On the last day I sat down and went through all my saved research rewards. Apparently I had 119 of them, so that brought me a good amount of dust and a 98% Lanturn (WOOHOO!).

Didn't do any trades.

Moltres day was okay. Managed 19 raids, but would have done more but I ended up alone during the final hour, which really sucked. Managed to do one final one with minutes to go thanks to three kids.
Caught 17, which was nice, but none had any good IVs.

As for shiny ones, I got none.
The shiny birds really don't like me. With Ho-oh, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, I've done 98(!) raids ahd only had three shiny (2 Articuno, 1 Zapdos). 49 of which has been Ho-oh raids.
Thank God they return soon (apart from Ho-oh), so maybe I can find a shiny Moltres.

All in all I am happy with this event. Could have been better, but could also have been worse.
Looking back on this summer I have to say that it's been really nice. Three challenges for us to complete which have resulted in some nice rewards.
I've enjoyed the Community days as well thanks to lovely weather and nice company.
Sure the Regi-trio hasn't been the most fun Pokemon to raid, but we had to get them at some point, so it's okay.

Now I'm looking forward to the upcoming Ultra reward with the returning birds and Mewtwo and some regionals.
But it will feel really strange when that is over and we "only" have Community days to look forward to.
No extra XP or stardust. No decreased distance on eggs or three hour mad raiding for shiny birds.

Luckily it seems like we will soon see Gen4. The last tweet really hinted about that, so maybe we'll see some new and exciting Pokemon soon.

Aimed to earn 600k dust but only managed 450k due to sudden real-life issues.

Had planned to max out a 96% Dark Tyranitar if I met my target, but with Mewtwo for a month, I should probably go ahead anyway.

Immediately investing in my lower-level Rock Tyranitars may be harder to justify as the birds will only be back for a week and Rhyperior is coming soon (along with Rampardos).

Sorry, Rayquaza, you can stay at level 25 for another few months.
