Celebi... a massive disappointment!!! Or just mine?
The mew quest I got 93% iv which was pretty good I thought...
Hoping that a similar good iv pokemon was gonna be worth the 'epic' quest I had completed.
Totally disappointed & wondering why an iv floor of at least 80% wasn't ensured?
CP-1274 (73.3%)

Did anyone get ripped off worse than me?
Please post your crap Celebi stats so I feel like keeping this pokemon instead of trading it...
I think the chance of stats getting worse is pretty small atm

Mew can have a niche. You can see it as a replacement attacker for any type you would not be well furnished (provided you have a lot of TMs). It will never be the best, but it's always a decent option if you have very few pokemon of any given type.
Examples: Need a water mon? -> Waterfall/Surf Mew. Need a legendary bird killer? -> Charge Beam/Rock Slide Mew. And so on...
Granted, the scenario of a player lacking Vaporeons while still having tons of TMs is very unlikely! But you get the idea.
But Celebi... Grass type without any grass move... Only ok if you are lacking psychic/fairy mons... What does it have for it?
Well, it's cute at least :)
I get that it feels bad but consider the following:
1) Celebi has no chance of being meta relevant if it doesn't get a major moveset rehaul. At best it's a mediocre counter to Machamp with the current movepool.
2) Most of the time IVs don't matter much in a fight anyway. IV are added on top of base stats so a difference of 20% IV is about 2% in overall stats. You will rarely notice any difference fighting with a mon that has worse than perfect IV.
I wouldn't go that far about the mythical thing. Unless they nerf Doom Desire, Jirachi has higher DPS than Metagross despite the huge stat disparity. Mew is held back by average stats, it technically has the moves to do just about anything.
Still, I can't believe Celebi doesn't get a single grass type attack. It's only existing option on the fast move front would be Hidden Power grass and Hyper Beam could have been replaced with literally any grass charge move it can learn.
Luckily Celebi is useless. Any other relevant grass or psychic type will do whatever Celebi can do but better. Celebi’s typing has always bothered me. When they created the Fairy type they definitely should have made Celebi a Fairy/Grass rather than Psychic/Grass. Or even Psychic/Fairy. Getting STAB on Dazzling Gleam would make it fairly strong against dragons and fighting types.
Upcoming mythicals might be good, however. Jirachi with Doom Desire, Darkrai, Arceus (depending on how they handle typing).
Rejoice! There is a way out. It is only for the Truly Dedicated, though, and it goes like this:
1) Create second account
2) Catch fresh Celebi (and Mew)
3) Repeat until both Celebi and Mew have been obtained with satisfying stats
4) Trade your current set of favorite Pokemon to your new mythical account
5) Catch and level replacements for those Pokemon whose IVs have been ruined by the trade
6) Abandon the empty husk of your old account
7) (^∇^)
Of course there is always 8) Catch Jirachi with abysmal stats
Lmao, just what the doctor ordered....
I like your style bro. Made me have chuckle!
I have decided to lower my expectations to the point that any future crap the game hands me will actually seem pretty good...
Note: Overall I still enjoy the game & hope they can keep improving it.
I'm def not that hardcore to even contemplate restarting.
And I only use one account, taking the easy path to glory devalues whatever you achieve..
I've been pretty lucky with what I've got so far :) Except for the elusive shiny forms.... my stats have them spawning aprx. 1 in 700 or 2 in 1400 catches
And goin by other posts mine def isn't the worst...
