The preparation list for Gen 4 is alright, but the best type attackers are outdated in most cases. You don't include legendaries (which are the real best) and many normal pokemon on the list are only worth if they know special moves that are no longer available. So, unless you trade the final evolved form with the special move they are not the best. Base forms for those pokemon are not so useful.
Example: bulbasaur is not so good as lucky. Venusaur with frenzy plant is.

Also, forget snorlax as an attacker. As defender may be good to have a lucky one (with body slam).

Well for legenaries you need a 8 x more dust on Best friend lvl to trade so i didint add them.
What to add as best grass and normal attacker ?

Everyone's playstyle is different but I don't mind the occasional high dust sink on legendaries. I've never traded with anyone where it's a new entry for them so the Great Friend trade was only 16k. At ultra it drops further to 1600, which is really a non issue.

The most upsetting trade I did was for a shiny Kyogre. When I got it its IVs were a/d/s/ 6/15/13. 60k down the tubes because I wanted a pink whale.

Legendary trades only adviced for ultra or best friends.
For grass type, exeggutor is okay if you can't find frenzy plant venusaur to trade.
For normal attacker I would focus on getting a lucky porygon. Its future evolution to Porygon-Z is a promising one.

I don't know if I'd save all that. I'm mostly focusing on high level/low IV Pokemon, Pokemon like Larvitar that would make excellent lucky bait, anything whose location guarantees 3 candy upon trade (I travel out of state a lot), extra shinies, and now any extra legendaries I know I'd never use, like any box Raikou less than 96% or the hoards of Articuno and Zapdos leftover from their raid days.

I went through my box and counted everything out yesterday. If I transferred all my trade bait and leftover legendaries I'd have a 200 Pokemon hole in my box.

In terms of what I save with high lvl crappy IVs that I don't immediately transfer but keep for trading, that's a pretty solid list.

I don't "have a list" per se - I just keep ones that I like to attack with but wouldn't bother evolving because of their IVs, and they pretty much match your list!

I don't keep *everything* high level, only those that might have some combat value. I'll trash a L35 Hoppip immediately but I'll keep a L30 Houndour for trade, for example. I tend to hold onto evolutions as well, yesterday I caught a wild Feraligatr that I'm keeping for trade.

Gotta include torchic - combusken - Blaziken in the fire attackers - especially considering a likely community day upcoming where Blaziken could learn blast burn. Might also include Totodile and Croconaw since Feraligatr would be a solid glass cannon with hydro cannon.
