The research bug - still...

(iOS)

So, I tried to catch a research Porygon today and the app decided to crash just after berrying. So, now I have the beautiful blue screen as well. Unbelievable that this still is a problem. Tomorrow I’m supposed to get my 4th Raikou, should I just leave it 1-2 days?

What happened with the stack for the Android users after the update?

The research bug's gone after the last update but there seems to be a bug with starting raids now, has the iOS update not happened yet?

Android here, raid issues seem to be isolated form user to user, unless more recent developments have happened. I raided yesterday without incident. The only bug I notice is the crazy zoom when encountering something.

I dont think that zoom thing's a bug, I tired throwing a ball at a pokemon when it first started and was able to throw it from that high up spot right at the start a few times

It absolutely is a bug, even if it's not game breaking. There's no "A wild [x] appeared!" anymore, no shiny sparkles, things that normally follow the sequence of an encounter. The zoom isn't even the same between two members of the same species.

It also cancels out the cry each specific Pokemon would normally make when encountered, if you're playing with the volume on.

As for the varying pivoting motions, they seem to be determined based on the direction your trainer is facing from the Mon you clicked on.

Bug or not, I hope Niantic fixes it, because it's quite annoying. Particularly the lack of shiny sparkles, since some shinies (here's looking at you, Sunkern) look almost identical to their normal models.

Thanks for the input, I almost never have sound on and wouldn't know.

I got a shiny Eevee from research over the weekend and had to do a double take because of the lack of shiny animation despite it being one of the more obvious ones. Sunkern get an extra stare down because I legitimately cannot tell them apart unless they're side by side.

If you have spent real money on this game:
1. Contact Niantic using this form and include the hashtag #ResearchReward in your report: https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/229616327
2. Stop spending real money on the game until they fix the issue or give a satisfactory response.
